So where do I begin?

Well it all started actually with a young girl with a big voice, Carrie Underwood! From the moment I saw her on AI, I was hooked. I bought up her albums, know every song by heart. I first saw her play in Merritt, BC. Not only did I love her before, but I couldn't wait to see her live again. I had heard about her fan club party, so I tried to make arrangements in the summer of 08' to go to it. I live in the North Cariboo in British Columbia, Canada, so Nashville is a fair trip away. With my work schedule, it didn't pan out. I was devastated! I knew i had to find some way to see her perform at least once a year, so I flew to see her in Edmonton last November for the Carnival ride tour. I got floor seats and it was awesome. Then this spring I watched her win for performer of the year, beating out a huge group of top name artists. I just had to find a way to go this year!! So i started slowly making plans, buying up opry tickets, making all the arrangements. My work seemed to pile up and I had spare cash but still got the time off. So my sister and I went for a 4 day whirlwind trip that turned out to be the best days of my life... so far... :)

Who would have guessed that the trip of a lifetime for two country girls would turn into an amazing adventure that would change my life! We had looked at some hotels, but the rates were fairly high. we found a nice hostel not far from everything, and the rates were decent. When we showed up and rang the doorbell, this gorgeous guy answers the door, and it was Trevor. Trevor had been staying there for a while since it was a place close to his workplace, after leaving Texas. He had been helping with running the hostel, as well as working his day job. Needless to say, we hit it off instantly. there was no part of me on my trip that was saying I was going to meet anybody, it just was such a strong attraction between the two of us, after the day at the opry we realized we both had felt the same connection. We spent every second together when he wasn't working. He took us to the mall, shopping, Piercy Priest Lake and we had a blast. as the time came closer to me leaving, we decided we wanted to try to be together. We knew it was going to be hard, but it was the easiest thing that I could ever agree to. Its like, God had given me this angel, and it didn't matter where he was from, he was sent to me to change my life. When I went to catch my first flight out, it was cancelled! there weren't flights out until the next day, so he came and picked us up on his lunch break and brought us back to the hostel where we stayed another night. I was so happy, but sad too because I had to go back to my job and would miss Trevor so much! the next day at the airport, we find out that the airline had made a MISTAKE in rebooking! no flight AGAIN! I just was overwhelmed at this point, wanting to go, wanting to stay. I didnt want to say goodbye again, it just hurt so much. AA put us up in the Marriott and we hit the pool and it was a blast! Goodbye did come the next day, but we had already decided I would come back within a few months. Fast forward to today, and I know Trevor and I were destined to meet on my trip. I am going back to visit him at the end of july. We have talked all day either on the phone, text, or chat. I have never had a long distance relationship, but it is worth it. Trevor is my missing half in life, and I am so blessed to have found him. we are going to spend three weeks together and I could never be more happy. we haven't filed any papers yet, but we are going to discuss our options when I get down there. We both want to just be together, and want the exact things out of life. I am just so excited to have him by my side.

Life is like a box of chocolates - never know what you're gonna get!

Hi! I love your story! and you know what! I met my husband in a hostel as well ! It was in Oct 2004 in Ireland. I am Polish but at that time I was an au pair there and he is an American who was on his vacation in Ireland. That weekend we all booked for the same hostel to stay while traveling in Galway. I remember me and my friend couldn't open the door and since he was already in the room he opened the door for us. As he says I walked into his life that day. And it was similar to your story. We spend as much time together as we could, realizing there was something going on between us. We had a wonderful time. It was hard for him to leave. We started to correspond , call each other and we fell in love. The feelings were so strong between us that Jaime visited me a few times in Ireland and in Poland when I was back home. There was always a lot of waiting to see each other but love was strong. I was refused a tourist visa a few times so it was only him who could fly to see me. We got engaged and we went through this fiancee visa process and now we are finally together , happily married, extremely happy to have each other. We were in a long distance relationship for more than 4 years and we can witness it is possible :-) I wish you all the best and I hope everything with be lovely for you. Ania

"Our Wedding Prayer"

Lord, help us to remember when we first met,and the strong love that grew between us.

To work the love into practical things so nothing can divide us

Grant us a Love that grows stronger with each passing year.

We ask for words both kind and loving

and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive.

Guide us to overcome every challenge

and keep our dreams pure to each other always.

Dear Lord,we put our marriage into Your hands.Amen

If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them.

I love hostel love stories! I met my husband in a youth hostel in Sydney, Australia in 1988!!! We just married a month ago in Finland (where he's from). It took us 21 years to find each other again (guess the right time was when we were in our 40s!), but your right time is NOW!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!
