lol Jamal we have adviced you before not to go through K3 when your I130 is already approved , it costs more money and the time you will save won't be more than 60 days . so you gotta evaluate it and pick your best option..

good luck

Not to further confuse someone who is debating on the best choice :P, but the CR1(130) is cheaper when you look at the cost of K3 with AOS...but is more expensive upfront and dont forget that you will have to lift conditions in 2 years.

K3- visa

fee 131 upfront

Adjustment of status- 1040 (if filed timely so that you get the GC after 2 yrs of marriage you get a 10 GC and no need to lift conditions)

EAD-340 (if filing standalone first and waiting for AOS close to the 2 year anniversary)

total- 1511

benefits- usually a quicker reunion as most consulates schedule interviews faster for k visas, and there is NO process through NVC (could save 60-90 days depending on your consulate)

cons- waiting for EAD for 3 months after arrival

CR1 visa

AOS fee 70, visa fee 355 upfront

lifting conditions in 2 years- 465 +80 biometrics

total- 970

benefits- able to work right away after arrival in US

cons- longer processing time through NVC and possibly through the consulate

must lift conditions after 2 years

Just some things to think about while making the best desicion for you.

The k3 is a joke as far as processing time through USCIS compared to the CR1, but if you've already chosen and filed..once they've both been approved, the K3 might be better for some people.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Y's_habibitk thank you :):):) and I will go with my I-130 !! in the mean time US embassy send us pack3

if I witt for to long I will send my K3 . do you think ok 4 me to do that

You know what? I misunderstood and got carried away

I thought that you were originally a k3 filer and were trying to decide which path to persue (after USCIS approved).

You only filed for the CR1? If thats the case..STICK with it. You cant file a k3 on an already approved CR1 petition.

You already have your packet 3... good luck and I hope the time passes quickly until your interview.

:)

I just really looked at your timeline... wow, Im sorry that you guys waited so long. May you SPEED thru the rest of your journey and be reunited VERY soon (F)
