I came in USA 26th April,2009 with an IR1 visa. I got stamped on my passport IR1. My green is approved and application type is OS155A. But my qus: is given below...

1) Does it mean i will get a green card with 10 years vilidity?

2) Do i have to apply I-751?

3)If I get divorce now, will i lost my permanent residant status?

4)How can I apply for US citizenship?

If anyone ans: my qus: please I will be really happy.

(I don't want to know the less/more two years explaination please)

1. Yes, an IR-1 leads to a 10 year green card.

2. Not sure what that form is. I assume the answer to your question is "no", as I had an IR-1 visa and got a 10 year green card, and did not have to fill out such a form.

3. No, once you get your green card you can stay as long as it is valid.

4. If you stay married, you can apply three years after you entered the USA. If you get divorced, it is 5 years.

Hmm you just got here and you are asking about Divorce? Was this out of the blue or is the relationship in stress already???

I-751 is removal of conditions only for those who were granted a GC before their second year of marriage is completed. No you do not have to appy.

Penguin_ie summed it up for you.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Now my new qus: is what is OS155A?

It is your application type. Like the one u had I-130 which actually meant Immgrations visa for Spouse (CR1/IR1). In the similar way, OS155A is for your Parmenent Resident Application (Green card). If you are on IR1, you should get your 10 year green card soon.

I am only one question...Why r u thinking of getting divorced so early? I think you should give a try first...U just came in, believe me, it surely takes some time to adjust with ur spouse...

It is ur life for sure..Think before you make any decision. And I believe, it is not only one issue - the immigration status, but also you can be in legal issues, like what if you wife goes for family violance, or fraud case against u? U never know. So, don't think of divorce right away, take some time. And, definitely you can be in US whatsoever.

Good Luck

Sonia
