"A pushy boss forces her young assistant to marry her in order to keep her Visa status in the U.S. and avoid deportation to Canada"

I never was bothered by these kinds of movies before, but I wanted some opinions from the people who's opinion means a lot to me. What do you think of this type of romantic comedy that glamorizes visa fraud and non-bonafide relationship? I mean it seems to popularize that visa fraud is OK as long as they find love with each other in the end.

I don't really take this movie seriously but the message it sends pisses me off I have to be apart from my wife for up to a year applying legally with a bonafide relationship i have the burden and fear to prove and these movies and tv shows make it seem like you just have to get married and fool an immigration officer.

I am sure the movie is funny and all but I don't like the portrayal of the process that wrings our patience and makes us break down because we have to be treated like criminals because we love someone.

Well... it's a movie. There are movies that glamorize bank robbers (Quick Change, Inside Man),

psychopathic cops (Dirty Harry), serial killers (Natural Born Killers, the Hannibal Lecter series),

folk hero criminals (Bonnie and Clyde) and organized crime (Goodfellas, The Godfather.)

Visa fraud seems pretty harmless in comparison.
