Hello Guys! Just have a quick question. I sent my RFE correction papers yesterday via USPS Overnight delivery. I logged in awhile ago and track my documents. Apparently USPS attempted to deliver my package at NVC and left a notice. I tried to call USPS to arrange a redelivery for my documents but no such luck. My question is do you think NVC will pick up my papers at the post office or would the post office will redeliver it 1st thing Monday? Because it said that if the item is unclaimed after 5 days it will be returned to the sender. What's the best thing for me to do? Thanks!

YES NVC has hundreds of those notices left during the weekend, they will pick them up, dont worry. Its just like any other business on weekends, notices left, it will be picked up.

Best wishes.

Truly happy!!!

It's most likely they will send it back to you if NVC is not available at time of delivery. A VJ member told that needing someone to sign can delay your package, if they are closed. I was suggested to send my petitions through Priority with delivery confirmation. So that's how I sent my petitions. Most people use UPS, maybe they will try a different time for delivery. Good luck!

For an RFE correction, how long do you think i have to wait till i get an answer for my papers? Meaning what's my window for getting an approval? A week or two maybe? I am asking for anyone that went through this process. Thanks again>

Hello,

I filled to I130 on 9/9/2008; I received NOA1 two weeks later, on the beginning of March 2009 they asked for more papers to prove our marriage is legally done- may wife was 6 months pregnant at the time), so we mailed everything we can thing of on March 25th, letter was received on April 1st. Now we have a beautiful 2 months old son but my wife and son live in Jordan and I live in Minneapolis and I HAVE NOT RECEIVED NOTHING REGARD our I130 application.

I call California Office every 2 weeks; I get the same exact answer: “we are doing a background check on you, call us after 2 weeks.”

I’m not sure what to do next. I contacted my Congressman- not sure what they did, if they did anything, hired a lawyer but no promises.

Please any suggestions and advices would help, thank you all.

Please try and search similar topics to post this question.

This topic is obviously about mail delivery receipts and such.

I would not be satisfied with talking to any old agent next time I call, if I were you. Ask for a supervisor or whatever next time, nasty people always get what they want, so abuse your right to customer service and you should get your answer.

Good luck!

01/03/12......................BIO

09/10/12..................... Approved

Thanks guys for all the info.. I feel much better now :) .. I was a bit worried awhile ago.. Thanks again...

being an usps employee for 14years, it depends on the carrier, here if they r closed on the weekend we leave a notice and redeliver on monday. the reason we leave a notice is that it stop the clock on that piece of mail, we have to scan each of these piece and keep track of then. you as a customer thats what u pay for is to know where your piece of mail is . if i was you i would check after 5 pm tomorrow do to thats when most carriers have to be back and give then time to download it into the computer. now if it wasnt redeliver , call the place of where u were having it deliver to and have them call the post office to bring out again but im sure the carrier thats runs that route knows all about this office. yes it is better and cheaper to mail it delivery confirmation it takes the same amount of time but this way the carrier can leave it with all the other mail they would have and not bother with a signature. customer r a lot happier with that. i hope this helps u and any one else. good luck with your case
