A 72 year old can shoot a gun just as easily as that 20 year old. Officers have to make life and death decisions in an instant everyday. She was given simple directions, she failed to obey them. There is consequences to every action, something granny should have taken into account when she decided to break the law.

Good grief. Common sense has just made a dramatic exit.

It reminded me of an old woman at the bus stop who demanded I gave her the seat that I had to her. She said, "Get off of there boy, ever heard of giving an old lady a seat."

I was like, "what the hell lady! giving you the seat? you're not even my grandmother!"

She shut up for awhile. Afterwards she would say, "kids nowadays they are useless...can't do anything...rude, obnoxious..."

I shut up. Then she continued ramping on....Then I asked her, "are you okay, you look like you're going suffocate....you need to shut it once in awhile, okay..."

Gave me the stare that she wanted to wrestle with me. Ridiculous how these old people think sometimes. I would've given her the seat if she asked nicely rather than demanding it like a child.

Wonder if the cop was a Republican?

Maybe a vet with PTSD or a steroid jock?

Don't the police train their recruits in non-violent conflict resolution?

They escalate the level of force to control the situation.

I'm sure... but escalation shouldn't have two settings - "Off" and "Full blast", like an old winter radiator.

I don't get why people are so willing to put unquestioning trust in someone with a badge and gun. Its not like they're prone to the same human failings as the rest of us...

Especially since the po-po tends to attract undereducated wifebeater jock types.

got a link to back that up?

I don't think anyone breaking traffic laws should be tazered. If they threaten the security of the police that's a different matter of course, but getting lippy doesn't deserve a short, sharp shock.

I agree. I hope the ACLU help this woman sue the pants off this cop and entire police department.

You should sort of do that without even having to be asked? I don't know how your bus system works, but the city I used to live in, in Canada was run sheer by bus transportation and that is sort of an unwritten rule. You see someone elderly getting on the bus, you get up and walk to the back. There is no waiting period. You whole story kinda made you seem like a #######, no offense.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I (double) agree - sue the living sh*t out of the department - ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. This chopf**k had no respect and was way over the line. Needs to be working security in some inner-city strip mall... :protest:
