Now that you're married, how often to you plan to visit family back home?

The only member of my family I'm interested in seeing would be my brother. I'd like to either visit him or him visit me before he goes to OCS. I'm not sure he'd have much free time once becoming an officer and a JAG. He might even get deployed to Afghanistan, so that'd make traveling a bit more difficult.

I went last year for 12 days (well 10 days really as 2 spent in traveling to and from) and today we're both going for 3 weeks - I'll go into minus on vacation time but they're understanding at work.

if we could afford, we'd go twice a year, and that because our jobs wouldnt grant us all that leave, otherwise we'd go more often.

Hoping for at least once a year for a mmonth at a time, although Rob may only be able to accompany us every other year.

Roll on December when i get to travel back for a month to show off our daughter who is due in Sept.

Luckily my home is not far, about an 8 hour drive so I plan on going back every 3 months or so. I can drive so it's not expensive travel.

So far, we've been visiting my husband's family twice a year in the UK and we plan on keeping it that way.

Once a year at least for my wife, but she still keeps very close tabs with her family like we did while waiting for the USCIS, internet, webcam, and the telephone. LOL, my wife won't webcam me anymore. Besides we going down there, her family comes up here, but only during the summer months. I really love her family, that helps a lot, my mother-in-law treats me like a baby and always concerned I have enough to eat. She is a great cook.
