Overlapping timelines. Separated at the time.

So I didn't think about this until last night when I was gathering up the K-1 petition to be.

I actually started to date my fiancee while I had been separated from my ex for over a year & my divorce was finalized 3 months after I started to date.

The ONLY reason I was still married at the time was the ex and I were in the process of selling our home. We had lived apart from one another for well over a year.

Will this be an issue for the K-1?...

Only thing I thought might bring questions is explaining how and when we met. I guess I could always say I didn't ask her to start dating me until the other thing legally ended.

I just don't want to create more questions and delays.

No. They may report this juicy scandal to TMZ and you might be on the late night program, bumping Britney Spears off for whatever underwear she isn't wearing today, but nothing more.

As long as you were divorced when you filed the petition, you are fine.

No need. Just be honest. They do not care about these things, really. Worst case, they may ask your fiancee about it at the interview, I have heard of this often enough. Something like "Was he married when you started dating?" Or "did you know...?" Just make sure she is aware of everything. If she knows the truthful answer it is not a problem.

Yup, she knows everything. That was out first "issue" before we started dating. I have somewhat of a more detailed past than she did. She got over it though once she realized how perfect I was.

LOL. I met her in Prague, of all places, when she was struggling with getting her luggage on a bus. I helped her out, being the "knight in shining armor " that I am.

Now she tells her friends, "If you are ever in a foreign city and an American man offers to help....RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL I use this as evidence of a legitimate marriage!

After I shared the details on my past she decided to take a week "off" from getting to know me. She finally called me and asked why I hadn't called. "I did call you and text you many times." She tells me I didn't try hard enough.

Gotta love them Russian women.
