Thanks again everyone! The boys are still doing great. They upped the time off the c-pap to 6 hrs twice daily. They did have to start them on "caffeine" because they were having a few too many apneas. It's totally normal though as the "breathing" reflex isn't quite developed yet. They usually grow out of the apnea by 35 wks. Trace is back up past his birth weight and Tegan is one ounce short of his. They have taken Tegan off of his enhanced iv fluids so he's just on a regular iv now and getting all his nutrients from my milk. They said he will be on those a day or two and then will come off the iv all together. Trace is right behind him on this as well. The nurse said this morning I may get to start feeding Tegan as early as next week. Things just keep improving and we're thankful for all the thoughts and prayers we are receiving.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Glad to hear things are going well sweetie. OMG they are so tiny!!!

They are pretty tiny. Tegan is 3 lbs 13 oz and Trace is 3 lbs 2 oz. Tegan should hit 4 lbs soon. Even though they are tiny the doctors actually said they are big for their gestational age. I know they are identical but it still blows my mind they look exactly alike. I just can't get over it. I have a hard time telling them apart now even with the weight difference. I can't imagine how I'm going to tell them apart later down the road. They'll be pulling stuff over on me and Javi all the time.

I can't imagine holding them, I would be afraid to lol.

That's funny they probably will try and trick people, but I'm sure at some point you'll know the difference, just from mannerisms or maybe a slight difference in the way they look. I would think it would be fun to be a twin though

Awww...I was going to ask if you could tell them apart!! And I agree, that once they get a bit older you'll start to notice behavioral differences!

I dated a twin back in high school and he and his brother were exactly identical! No one could tell them apart. But after I had dated the one for about 2 weeks I didn't have any problems. I'm still friends with both of them. And even though I dated one for close to a year, when I saw them about a year ago at a party I got them mixed up!!! I felt sooo bad!! Point is, I'm sure they will enjoy tricking people all the time and people probably will get them confused!! But my friend said their sister and parents NEVER got them confused!

You'll have to come up with a color code for a while I guess. Tegan always in blue and Trace always in green or something!

you'll be able to distinguish them. you're the parent, it comes with the package. i have twin cousins, they look exactly the same. only her parents, brother and i would have no problem when they were little to distinguish them. after they grow up some, even though they look almost the same, they'll never have exactly the same height and weight. plus they'll have different attitude, temper, even their voices. i'm so glad to hear they're recovering so fast (F)

aaww I'm glad to hear they are doing well. You can already tell that they are growing fast :)

I wonder if they'll have that twin thing where they can sense what the other one is feeling :luv:

I finally got around to the picture of me holding the boys yesterday.

holdingbabies.jpg

Javi is on his way down here right now. They have already done one room air trial this morning and the boys did great. They are doing another one tonight at 8. I haven't told Javi so it will be a surprise for him to be able to hold them when he gets here. They also had their head ultrasounds today and everything looks perfect. They've gained even more weight and are off the bili lights. Every day just keeps getting better and better.

:D

You should frame this!

.......and keep it handy so you can wave it under their noses about 16 years from now when they are bigger and giving you some lip................... :P

Just thought I'd post an updated picture. They look exactly alike!!! We're going to have to put a permanent mark on one of them somewhere.

Booty, they're gorgeous!

Don't worry, you'll be able to tell them apart. You're mom! I think as they begin to develop more 'kid' features it will be especially easy. But this will make you feel better: my friend and I had our daughters three weeks apart. They're 10 now, but we were looking at pics of them as babies a few weeks ago and found one of the two of them, around 1-2 months old in a crib together. It took us about 1/2 an hour to tell them apart...and they clearly aren't twins :)
