In the lunch room, sometimes my coworkers eat sandwiches with chips in them. Usually Pringles but other kinds as well.

Oh yeah!

It adds a nice crunch.

Sure does!

All Dressed chips

All Dressed? What's that? As opposed to partially or undressed?

used to put vanilla ice cream in a glass of coke.

Everybody thought it was normal but i never understood why

It's called an ice cream float. Popular in the USA for decades.

I'm guilty....like to put doritos or lays potato chips on my bologna or ham sandwiches.

 Tortilla chips especially Fritos are great.

moving right along

I've seen people do it in Canada.

In particular, I have a friend who puts All Dressed chips into their Subway subs. I like the taste and texture, but never think to do it.

How about dipping french fries in a Wendy's frosty or McDonald's icecream?

That's my fave!

Never tried that, but I think dipping fries in mayo is Canadian.... I do that!

I (L) All dressed chips, so flavourful!

I eat the chips on the side. But I see nothing wrong with putting them in the sandwich. I guess it saves some people effort~

SOOOOOOOO funny with the picture!!

The "all dressed- assaisonées" is the litteral translation between French and English, that is why it's only found in Canada because only Canada can understand their mix in translation in Frenglish..

It's like diet coke -> coca diète . There is not such a word in french :)

I've put Pringles (or other potato chips) inside my sandwich. It adds a little "crunch" and tastes better than using celery.

I used to get weird looks from my parents when I'd actually dip potato chips in ketchup. They thought that was weird, but I figured it was a potato product (like french fries) so why not have it with ketchup?

I did the same thing with the same rationale. Glad to know I'm not the only one!!!

I first encountered the whole "chip in a sandwich" thing when I moved to Montreal...but there it was almost always Doritos.

I tried it and love the texture and flavour boost. Don't do it often, for some reason, but I do love it! :pop:

I think they sometimes view chips as a french-fry substitute or something. In England they often put chips in sandwiches and/or eat them on the side as part of the meal too. I see lots of people in teh US eating chips as part of their meals as if they are a food group. Wierd!

You mean, chips aren't a standard snack - aka food group - in Canada?? Really? Wow. I leanred something new! Pringles are the best!

Potato chips are a very common snack in Canada, as are floats (ice cream in a glass of pop, that someone else mentioned).

I personally don't do the chip in food thing but my fiance and his family do it a lot; pizza with chips, burgers with chips and today he ate hot dogs and chips I loled and he asked me what I was laughing at......

Must just be an individual thing - I think having chips with anything is good and ok and normal.

My Husband used to make pizza with canned spaghetti - to each his own

Ahh it reminds me of the breakfast club when Ally Sheedy's character puts captain crunch in her sandwich. Love that movie SO MUCH!

That's what inspired my sister and I to try and put potato chips in our sandwich when we were young! We didn't have cap'n crunch so we found something else crunchy. We however did not try to put pixie stix over it. Bleh.

Since I was about 14, I have watched that movie at least once a week. Yes I know, ####### right? But I seriously put it on while I clean. It's like an album for me.

I know it line for line. And I am so pissed off that they are even thinking of doing a remake. Leave well enough alone!!!!
