Potato Chips in Sandwiches

I miss Old Dutch.

I love Old Dutch, on my last trip home when I drove, I brought back bags and bags of them, especially baked dill pickle flavour!

I'm so jealous. Next time home, I'm gonna buy a few boxes and use that as my luggage. I miss the old BBQ flavour and of course Dill Pickle.

I think they sometimes view chips as a french-fry substitute or something. In England they often put chips in sandwiches and/or eat them on the side as part of the meal too. I see lots of people in teh US eating chips as part of their meals as if they are a food group. Wierd!

You mean, chips aren't a standard snack - aka food group - in Canada?? Really? Wow. I leanred something new! Pringles are the best!

Okay, I KNOW there are chips in Canada... my favorite chips come from there... ketchup chips!!!

I guess, by my statement, I meant, that sandwiches and chips are not a typical combo? Or even with burgers, hotdogs, etc.?? What you're saying here is making things my fiance' said make more sense... I thought I was just hearing him wrong. So, for as much as Americans eat chips for snacks, us eating them with/in/on sandwiches/burgers/etc. is the part that's different. He alluded to that fact once... but I thought I misunderstood him.

Kinda like we eat ranch dressing with our buffalo wings. It's my understanding that doing that is not a typical Canadian way of eating wings. lol

Yes, I have seen them on the side of hot dogs and hamburgers, but they are usually home made deep fried chips (at least when served at a restaurant). When we were kids we used to have chips in the side too, but most of my friends thought that was weird.

At least in Edmonton, that is the most common way to eat wings. Even when you order from Pizza 73, the wings come with a side of ranch.

yeah we use chips as sides.. well our family didn't but my mom was weird and rarely bought chips ... but when we would have barbecues and stuff we would have chips...

Never tried that, but I think dipping fries in mayo is Canadian.... I do that!

Love dipping fries in mayo!! Haven't done that in ages...now you got me hungry...

All dressed are so good. My favourite though is the Old Dutch BBQ Smokey Bacon......mmmm mmmm mmmmm so addicting!!

I put chips in my hot dogs sometimes, if I have an open bag, haha.

I recently got totally addicted to this brand called "Uncle Ray's".

Wow are they ever good.

They have like 8+ flavours and every single chip in the bag is totally coated in flavour.

They also keep in those ones that get too brown from frying, my favourite ones.

Plain chips in a bologna with mustard and lettuce sandwich yum yum the very best! Learned about chips in a sandwich in California during the late 60s. Can't be any stranger than the following that I have either had or have seen others eating.

Peanut butter and dill pickle

Peanut butter and onion

Peanut butter and cheez whiz

Peanut butter and lettuce

Peanut butter and mayonnaise

Cucumber and catsup

Pork and beans and onion

Sardines and HP Sauce

Anyone else have an unusual sandwich combo?

But I do dip my McDonalds fries in my caramel sundae...mmmmm...since I was a kid LOL! I love salty and sweet
