There are so many remakes,I think Hollywood is running out of ideas.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

why would someone watch a movie with Beyonce starring in?

she's one of the worst actresses I've ever seen in my life.. and no, fanboy service is not a justification either

the question for me is why is Idris Elba, who is not only super fine but brilliantly portrayed one of the most complex characters in all of scripted television doing starring in this #######?

Haven't seen this movie, don't know a thing about it.

But someone just mentioned STRINGER BELL, my main man!

I ADORE THE WIRE. ADORE is not a strong enough word. The Wire redefined to me what television means. Television, and I, and my relationship to television, is forever altered thanks to The Wire. And Idris Elba had a huge part to play in that.

FIXXORED.

One never stops loving the Wire!

From Season 1 E1, all the way to Season 5 finale. From the Barksdales in the towers, to the docks and the Sobotkas, to Hamsterdam, to the rise of Marlo Stanfield. And not to forget the characters - McNulty, the Bunk, Bubbles, Omar, Carcetti ... this is not just a TV show. This is the modern American novel, on screen.

Youze all can have your American Idol and reality TV. I don't give a whit. This is a subject I do not take lightly.

I have watched the entire series twice.

Second time was just as rewarding.

Have you read David Simon's book? I recommend if you are a fan. A lot of the scenes from THe Wire are lifted directly from there, and a lot of the characters are based on the (real) people he write about in it.

I too have watched each season multiple times. I need to. There's no way I can get all the dialogue and nuances the first time around. There is always too much going on in the corners of the screen that is relevant only when you've seen everything, then go back to the beginning and watch it again.

I have not read his books - Homicide: Life on The streets, and The Corner. But now that you bring it up, they will be next to go on my reading list. I thought his other series of the same names were based on these books, but The Wire is an original screenplay? Based upon his many years reporting for the Baltimore Sun.

I also really enjoyed The Shield. It's a different kind of cop show ( I really don't think of The Wire as a classic cop show at all). Now that both The Shield and The Wire are over  I've been trying to get myself into the new series Southland. Have you been watching that? I can't quite get myself into it yet. Maybe it will grow on me over time.

Both Homicide and The Wire are based on his experience which he writes about in A Year on the Killing Streets. The character of Jay Landsman, which is based on a real person of the same name (the real one appearing Lt Mello in the Wire) turns up in both series though he is called John Munch in Homicide. Bunk is based on a real life person who appears in both series.

The series opener "This is America, man" is lifted straight out of the book.

Sweet baby jesus, someone brought up The Wire. I love that show. Not all that long ago I bought that complete series box set and watched it all over again. What a fantastic show. Bunk and Omar Little were the best characters ever.

Everyone should definitely watch the mini-series The Corner if you haven't watched it yet. It's very good.

Real love stories never have endings...
