My fiance is confused as to the different sizes of our passport pictures we submitted.

Here in Brazil the passport pictures are a little bigger than the American ones (2x3), which is the size of the one I sent him. My J1 Visa has a 2x3 sized picture too, so we thought it wouldn't be a problem. Now we are wondering if it will be a problem, and if we will get an RFE because his picture is 2x2 and mine is 2x3.

2x2 and 2x3 is the same thing, USCIS is not too strict on passport picture sizes, you are fine!!!

2x2 is better, thats passport size, and always on photo instructions

I sent 2x3 pictures with my petition too! I didn't realize Canadian and American passport photos were different sizes, and my USC and I got our pictures taken together when he was up here visiting me. It was never an issue, no RFE. Don't worry, you should be fine!

In Croatia, they return any and all photos that are not the American passport standards. At the Embassy level, of course, but we made sure to send the right ones even with our petition. Photographers here know what they need to do when you mention the American passport size, so it's easy to obtain the right one.
