Hello my new friends!

I got my I-129F approval notice abot two month ago. My documents were send to NVC around the same time.

I got e-mail from NVC stated I should pay $70 for I-864 form and I paid this money and mail I-864 form to NVC.

Recentry I gon another e-mail from NVC aasking me to pay $400 for an interview in Kazkhstan.

I calld NVC yesterday to ask were my documents are, and they told me I should send them a form DS-230 sined by my husband (hi is in Kazkhstan),

the form must be in original and can't be send as Fax or PDF document.

As I know this form should be in the pakage 3 from an embassy and it's nothing to do with NVC, I have know idea why they asking me this form,

I thought they just should do another background chack and pass our documents to an embassy in Kazkhstan for an interview.

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong or what I did wrong.

Thank you for any help.

Yes NVC requires the DS-230 Part 1 and Part 2 filled in by your husband. He will also need to sign the DS-230 Part 1 and must not sign the DS-230 Part 2 this is to be signed by your husband at the interview.

NVC cannot forward your case onto the Embassy until they receive these documents and others (Marriage certificate original and copy etc).

Your best bet is for your husband to download the forms and then complete them and forward them to you as soon as possible.

Your case will be stuck at NVC until they have all the documentation that is required for your case. There are 2 excellent guides for the NVC process on visajourney.

Best wishes

You have two petitions in the system. NVC is communicating with you about the I-130 that would result in a CR1 visa interview. If you've decided on the K3 visa path, simply ignore correspondence from NVC asking for fees or documents.

exactly as push said.

You havent done anything wrong.

If you are persuing the k3, just ignore the correspondence from NVC. Do you know that your consulate got your k3 file from NVC? You should have received a letter stating that your case was received and will be forwarded to the consulate within a week. Did you get one of those, or has the consulate sent out the packet yet?

The NVC receives both files from the service center the adjudicated your petitions. The 130(cr1) and the 129f(k3). The k3 should make a short stop at nvc and be forwarded to the consulate where they will send out the packets and schedule the interview. The CR1 will stay at NVC until you complete that process which includes the fee bill that you received and the DS forms.

So again, if you chose to go with the K3 and NOT the CR1 visa, just ignore the letters and emails from NVC regarding your 130(CR1).

hope that helped ease your mind :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Did you file I-130 for CR1/IR1 visa too! NVC is talking about pending CR1/IR1 visa petition and processing fees, i.e., $70 for I-864 (affidavit of support) and $400 for DS-230 (IV fee bill)

K-3 is handle at US embassy or Consulate, where you send or present all necessary documents at the time of interview.

First you said, they were asking you to pay $400. If you already paid the $400, it's too late to ignore NVC. You just paid the CR1 visa fee. Give NVC what they are asking for and follow the CR1 path instead of the K3. You're lost. Let's see if we can get you back on track.

Pushbrk is one of the most experienced contributors to visajourney and gives good advice. Follow his path and you should not go wrong.

We hope this all works out for you. The CR 1, IR 1 route is better for you in the long run anyway and perhaps this twist of fate will benefit you after all.

Best wishes
