Just wondering if you have pets and/or what your MENA SO says about them?

I want a dog but that is out of the question for him...anything BUT a dog he says :(

I have a cat. My husband used to be so jealous of her until he came. Now he plays with her, pets her and loves her just as much as I do. In fact, he spoils her. I don't think he realized how much he would enjoy having a cat until he came here though his family did have an outdoor cat they took care of while he was growing up. The main thing was that I had to assure him we would keep her healthy and vaccinated which I do anyways, so not a problem.

I wish you luck in working out some kind of pet to have.

Most Muslims believe that having a dog as a pet is forbidden, I'm sure this has been discussed endlessly before...

I had a dog when I married my ex... and he was not happy about it.... I just told him the dog was here first and she wasn't going anywhere... and that when she was gone then he would be here "first"... however very shortly after she died he left for Canada and a new life there without us. I miss the dog MUCH more... She is unreplaceable... I've married again... ;)

We already have a family cat and I know dogs are haram but i can't help it, my dog was soo good to me and he was a good guard dog, i felt secure when he was around..but he died last march of 2008 :( I would get another dog in a heartbeat if my husband would let me...but right now I think it's a hamster even though there's nothing more affectionate than a dog :(

We got two kittens a year ago, after we'd been married for almost a year, and he loves and spoils them both. They're exclusively indoor cats.

He had a dog as a child and recently said that when we buy a house, he'd like to get a couple outside dogs. He wouldn't mind an inside dog if it was very small, but he prefers larger breeds, both for protection and companionship, and we both think it's too hard to keep the house clean enough with a large dog living inside. He'd like to raise some goats too, for profit, but I'm lobbying for alpacas :)

we have 2 cats. One female almost 3 her name is Candy. Shes a doll. Shes so girly! Shes 9lbs and beautiful. She never makes a problem, never eats alot and doesnt make terrible poopy smells. The male cat Alex is 15 lbs one year old, just like a boy -into everything, eats tons of cat food if allowed, and hes always pooping! we love our cats!

Adam does want a dog but I will only be convinced if we have a house and its a SMALL dog.

LOL our cats are similar (brother and sister). They're a year old also. The girl is tiny and dainty, and the boy is huge. She's the adventurer, and he prefers to lounge around. She begs for food, then takes one or two bites and is done, while he eats and eats. The strange thing is their voices. She has a louder, lower voice, and he makes a high-pitched "Wheeeee!" sound. We named them Spring and Box because the first night we brought them home as kittens, she found a tiny hole in the fabric on the underside of the box springs and led him inside -- we had to pull the fabric off to get them out. Now they look like their names. :)

My husband mentioned getting an indoor rabbit for the baby once he's a couple years old, but I told him those take more maintenance than cats if they're going to be healthy and happy, and they do tend to smell more than cats do.

we have 2 cats. I want more but hubster says 2 is enough. I had a dog when he came to live with us and he "accepted" her because we had her first and he believes it's haram to send away an animal once you have earned its trust, no matter what animal it is. When w moved to houston, the dog was not allowed to come and it tore me up. I'd love to have a small dog and a currently working on hubster to gree lol.

my cats are 'mr. catbob fuzzypants' catbob for short and mrs. ivory. Catbob is 10 years old and shares a birthday with my son. They're the exact same age! He's an orange persian mix who we have to shave lke a poodle so he doesn't get hairballs. He guards me everywhere I go. The funniest is the bathroom coz he'll come make sure that the toilet monste didn' eat me and then he will sit at the edge of the room with ears erect and sitting perfectly still until he hears the toilet flush. Then he escorts me back to my couch lol.

Ivory i a siamese tortoise shell mix and she is always talking. She's 3 years old and was hubsters christmas present in 2007 per his own request. She's cross eyed as heck and loves to chase red laser beams. She has her own place at the table that she sits at in the hopes of us throwing her a scrap or 2. She is slinky and very very nosey!

We love our cats!

We have two dogs and a cat. He was NOT thrilled with the idea of having dogs at all  Then one day, a few months after he got here, he happened to see Cesar Millan's dog whisperer show. He's been spending alot of time with the shepherd and getting a kick out of training her. He even has one of Cesar's books. He works a little with the older dog..but you know..old dogs new tricks...Anyway, it's all good now! Thanks Cesar.

yes, and also there was a hadith that said the angels don't come into a house where there are dogs. and also they arn't allowed where one does salah.

My hubby finally agreed on having a dog as long as he only stays downstaires and he has his own cage inside...but now i'm thinking about a bird for now..
