No, we have no idea. Here's what the email says:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD

On May 8, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail.

It's not really helpful. I wish they would be more specific so we could start getting it ready, but we just have to wait for letter.

I'll update everyone when the letter arrives.

Yeah, I know... They could have let you know what they want from you IN the email, so you could get ready to send everything when you get the RFE itself in the mail.. We got one too.. it`s very frustrating. and the actual RFE took 10 days to arrive, so we "lost" like 2 weeks...

I`ll follow your timeline. Good Luck!

Two weeks! OMG did the letter go to the moon and back? How awful. It's bad enough getting a surprise RFE but waiting for it for 2 weeks is terrible. I know it's jut a form email, but it would be nice to know if we just mixed up a form or didn't send enough marriage evidence or who knows.

Sigh,

I will definitely keep everyone updated.

Did it hold up your EAD and AP?

I didn`t get any updates on my EAD after my biometrics AT ALL. We sent the evidence last Friday and on Wednesday (the 6th) we got this email:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On May 6, 2009, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

and that`s it. nothing since then.

In our portfolio the EAD and AP says it was updated 5/8/09. I'm not really sure what that means.

At least processing has resumed. I hope it doesn't take 60 days for a decision.

When you get an "update" on your application, it shows the last time someone worked on it. In your case, the last "touch" was on the same date as the RFE was issued. We had that too. as far as i understand, they put your I-485, I-765 and I-131 on hold, until you send them what they want.

I hope it doesn`t take 60 days either :D For neither of us! Unexpected delays are always frustrating... Hope No More RFEs....

Congrats Rubyred on the bio appt!!

On our online portfolio it says the I- 485 is on hold waiting for the RFE. The EAD and AP were last updated May 11 and do not say they are on hold. Does this mean they will still keep processing those?

It says they are at the national benefits center and will be processed in the order they are received.

Shelly :)
