I posted these questions in the wrong thread so I will move them over here myself and edit the first question as I have found out more information.

Hello everyone, I have three questions:

1) With the paperwork included with the i-134 I need to send the past three years of tax returns of myself and my co-sponsor, but can that be my tax returns or does it have to be in the 'transcript form' from the IRS?

(EDIT) --- Apparently, the Thailand consul does not accept co-sponsors. Which is a problem for me because I feel as if my personal income will not be enough. (unsure though, need to know how much I need) I also spent the last 6 months with my fiance, so I had no income while there. My last three tax returns show income, but just how much do they need to show?

2) Because I was with her for the past 6 months, I have had no income while out of the country. So, my most recent pay stubs are from September of last year. This is also why I wanted a co-sponsor, because even with my income I felt I needed a co-sponsor to assure them. (but I can't use a co-sponsor) Would you recommend that I attach the pay stubs from before I left for my 6 month trip? I still am employed with the two companies that I was with before I left. I have multiple jobs, how do I state this on the i-134?

3) When the interview date comes up, will it be a problem that I can not attend in person? I just returned from being with my fiancé for 6 months and won't have the finances available to fly there for the interview. Is it mandatory for me to be in attendance? Does this give them reason for denial?

Thanks for the help in advance!

You need to show that you have at least $18,000 per year in dependable income to be the sponsor. The fact that you are not there for the interview will not count against you, but your presence will help validate the relationship. If there are doubts that a visa should be granted (a hunch that it's all about the green card, for example) your presence will help overcome them. Good luck!

They are looking for current income. So when you return to your job will your income be above 18,212 for 2009? If so, then you should be ok. Your employer letter and pay stubs (not the ones from last year) will demonstrate your income.

US Embassy and Consulate General Discussion

You are almost there and now you have to deal with the embassy. This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.

YMMV

2) You can always submit a cosponsor, even though the Bangkok embassy does not accept them. From my corespondance with the Embassy they would not approve you if you don't currently (meaning on your '08 taxes, or '09 if your interview is after April 15, 2009) have enough income. They won't pass you on your co sponsor but it won't hurt you to submit it. Do you have recent paystubs... like since leaving thailand and going back to the states? If you could submit those with a letter from your employer, it might be helpful. But unfortunately I am not sure they would approve your visa, but I will hope for you they will.

3) Recently the Bangkok Embassy doesn't even let the American Citizen in for the interview, so it will not in the least be held against you that you are not there.
