Hi everyone,

I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong thread. I'm new here... :blush:

Me and my fiance are just getting started with the I-129 process. In the form they are asking for the I-94 number and for the A number but I don't have either of them. As far as I have understood the I-94 is the small white paper that they attach with the passport when I enter the United States as an Alien and take back when I leave the country. So, how can I figure out my I-94 number?

Thanks,

Anna

Thank you guys, that helps so much.

I need to know now for my boyfriend, who is American and in the U.S. where the Vermont Service Center (VSC). We're having a big problem finding out which is the correct address. Any help?

More questions have come up...

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...e=k1guide#proof

#5 is the Fiancé Letter of Intent and I'm confused.

Do I have to worry about the United states embassy and consulate yet, or do I wait for when it gets accepted? (does that mean there will be two addresses on it? Embassy and USCIS service center?)

Also, does the beneficiary (me in Sweden) and the petitioner (boyfriend in U.S.) both have to fill these parts out?

Help please :)

I tend to get more and more confused when it comes to the letter of intent.

It is recommended to describe the relationship, its history, present and future. (for example, see http://www.expertfianceevisas.com/?p=15 )

Where does this go? ON the intent to marry...or somewhere else? And also, how long should both (petitioner/beneficiary) letters of intent to marry be? Because the example form has such a short format.

Thanks again,

Anna

The letter of intent and the description of your relationship go on separate sheets of paper.

You write a description of your relationship on an additional sheet (mark top as "I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18: Has your Fiance met and seen you"). Mine was a bit more than half a page, typed. Describe how you met, how often you have seen each other, how you stay in contact with each other and that you wish to live together and that's why you apply for the K1.

Write the letters of intent on separate pieces of paper (one to sign by you, one by him). I used the example form and it was just fine.

i used the example letter for my letter of intent. my description of relationship was very brief and concise. they approved it so both were apparently fine.

The letter of intent doesn't have to be an essay. I think ours were only a sentence or two long. Hand-written, hand-signed, not notorized, basically it just said words to the effect of:

To whom it may concern,

I <full name> hereby state that I intend to marry <fiancé(e) name> within ninety days of <his/her/my> entry to the United States. We first met at <place> on <date> and have spent <n days/weeks/months> together in the past two years.

Sincerely,

<your signature>

<full name printed>

<today's date>

It's the other stuff that goes in the packet, emails, Skype records, travel itineraries, bank statements (from the beneficiary, showing card use in the petitioner's home town), and so on, and so on that proves the relationship.

All they require is a statement by your own hand (signature at the very least) that you really do intend to marry the person stated on the I-129F. My wife wrote her own letter separately from me so that they wouldn't be identical but she didn't say any more than I did.

We used the sample we found here on the website for both the petition and the interview at the Embassy. It worked just fine.

If my fiance is moving by August and that is where I know we'll be...but he hasn't found a place yet...what should we do when it asks for where we plan to live?

Do yourself a favor and read the instructions for each form then the K-1 Guides & FAQ here. Then have a look at the example forms to help you put your package together. All of that will answer most questions for you. It will also help you to prepare for whats to come. ;)

List his current address as where you plan to live since you have no idea yet.

good luck and welcome to VJ
