hi i was wondering if when i get back in the us, i can simply renew my american driver license i have (it s about to expired)

(i had to go back to france to apply for a new visa)

is there a time limit to renew it?

thanxs

been dating since june 1st 2007

dec-08 -officially engaged,i went back to France to apply for k1

2-11-09:noa1

3-06-09:My angel is visiting me

3-16-09:my angel is going back to the states

6-06-09: received NOA 2 HARDCOPY!!!!! ( notice date:-05-29-09)

No such thing an an "American" driver's license. Driving privileges are granted by the states, so it depends on the state that issued it, and the state that you will be living in.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

i got my license in louisiana

been dating since june 1st 2007

i got my license in louisiana

Most states want evidence of legal status, if you enter the USA on a K-1, they may or may not re-new it based on the shortness of the 90 day I-94 card, and may only issue based on a 1-2 year EAD card or Green-card.

You say your license is about to expire- will it be expired when you come back to the US? If so, depending on the state, you may need to take the driving test again (I know my husband had to in Arkansas, but his license was expired over a yearas he lived in Ireland for several years).

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
