Finally, after almost 5 months, my receipt number has been found. Now I can see "touches!" Just one more thing to obsessively check while waiting....Anyone else find their status recently visible after months of receiving "case not found"?

It seemed like this happened to quite a few of us. There is a message at USCIS saying that they are backlogged and cases can take 4 weeks to get entered into the online system. But, for me (and others) it took more. Mine took almost 5 months and only was accessible right before ( less than 12 hours) approval (NOA2). A while back, USCIS had a message saying there was a problem with the online system and they were repairing it. So, I don't know the whole story or details, but I wasn't the only one.

I did call them to ask about it--because it's unnerving to see "receipt or case" "not found". Usually the person answering the phone can't see the case in his/her system either (or can only see that it exists, but can't get info) so they would forward my call to another person who would say "yep, it's there and says 'pending'". That's really all the info I got, but you could probably ask for more details like the date it had been last updated (touch).

no, its no cause for worry. doesnt mean a thing. i got approved finally and last i checked it still says "Pending" and "last update july 29".

just makes it really frustrating when everyone gets touches and yours has the same "last updated" date forever. you want to see something, but alas, it doesnt matter in the least...the online status thing is just something to do while ur waiting :P

My fiance and I did not see any changes on our case status at all until about 3 days before our NOA2 actually arrived in the mail. By that time, our case was already in Morocco. Don't worry if your case doesn't show progress online. Chances are that there is progress being made but that the status just hasn't reached the computers yet

My wifes AOS and EAD case number didnt show up in the uscis site till about 3 weeks after we got our Noa1 in the mail. now the funny thing is the last touch we see is back on 3/11 when she had her biometrics appointment even though she just got her EAD card in the mail a few days ago. So yeah it does seem to be a delay on updating the website.

how can one go about checking their NVC case number online? is it possible through USCIS perhaps? or is there a particular place on the NVC website that I can look? I tried a few times but couldn't find a definite place to log in and try....

thanks.
