Hey guys,

I'm about to send my AOS petition. But I have a question, during my interview for the K1 in Paris, the woman gave me back some of the documents that we sent with the 129f. One of them is my birth certificate with a notarized translation in english. We have to send my birth certificate for the AOS and I wondered if I could use the same one. The date on it is june 2008, if I have to ask a new one in France I will have to pay 75 euros for the official translation and I won't be able to send my AOS petition before 2 or 3 weeks.

So, what do you think, is the date on the document is important ? Cuz' the document itself will exactly be the same...

Thanks in advance

Juliette

a birth certificate does NOT expire unless you somehow are "born again"....

YMMV

If the date on the document was older than you are I could see a problem.

Again Birth Certs DO NOT EXPIRE, I have one printed in 1964 that is still VALID. You cannot DIE and be Born Again. Edited by YuAndDan

P.S.,

You could always obtain an International version of your BC - it has multiple language translations built in (so no translation required). (Not that you'd need it since the date on yours is pretty much irrelevant.)
