Interview Today & Car Blew Up

Just when I thought everything was going okay and we were prepared as well as we could be for tomorrow...

THE CAR BLEW UP on the Interstate on the way to the IRS office Wednesday afternoon. We managed to roll down an exit ramp and get off, but the car is well and truly finished with! Although I started to panic about getting to the AOS interview today, I thought we could at least stay in the hotel right next to the Dept Homeland Security building or hire a car.....well apparently not! The College World Series is here in Omaha and there is not a single hotel room or car available to hire in the whole city (I'm not exagerating, I went through the phonebook)!! There is no public transport to speak of around here and the taxis turn up an hour late at best, if at all! I just can't believe the timing, any other week we could have had the pick of the hotel rooms or car rental companies.

We managed to book a car to pick us up at 7.45am, with the interview at 10am and 6 miles to get there, I figure that if the car doesn't arrive we'll have to walk along the Interstate to get there, I'm not risking being late or missing it and getting a denial just for that. I guess at least it happened yesterday and not actually on the way to the Interview today, that is something at least :yes:

18th December 2005 - Received at Chicago 9.18pm.

23rd December 2005 - NOAs for I-130, AOS, EAD, AP!! Didn't expect them that quickly

13th January 2006 - RFE for Medical and additional I-864 info

17th January 2006 - INFOPASS Apt about RFE.

23rd January 2006 - Appointment notice for Biometrics on 10th Feb.

10th February 2006 - Biometrics Appointment

21st February 2006 - Medical. Cost $250 including all blood tests, Td Shot, TB test and Titers for MMR and Varicella.

27th February 2006 - Appointment with immigration lawyer re. RFE for I-864.

1st March 2006 - Final results Medical. Papers in hand to send.

10th March 2006 - RFE responses to Lees Summit

13th March 2006 - RFE responses signed for at Lees Summit

24th March 2006 - Emergency AP approved in Omaha

28th March 2006- Collected AP

31st March 2006 - EAD Approval online

7th April 2006 - EAD arrived in mailbox.

21st April 2006- Received Interview Date for 22nd June

9th May 2006- Received SSN

22nd June 2006- AOS INTERVIEW APPROVED

REMOVING CONDITIONS

June 20 2008 - Package mailed to CSC under new rules. Would have been an NSC transfer

June 23 2008 - Package recieved at CSC

June 27 2008 - Recieve NOA1

July 16 2008 - Biometrics

July 17 2008 - Touched

September 9 2008 - Card production ordered

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

April A friend told me that she thought my ideal man lived in Wyoming or Montana.

May 17 Did search on match.com. Found no-one in Wyoming. Only wrote to one person in Montana...his name was John. He replied two hours later.

Jun 26 Flew to Missoula to meet him & a weekend trip turned into a five week visit...

Many trips between US, Canada & Europe.

March 31 During a meeting in Vancouver, John proposed & I said YES!!!

Jun 2 Finally sent off our I-129F & a few days later we received NOA1. I am now officially an alien bride-to-be.

Aug 22 Email notification of NOA2.

Sep 12 Received letter to say application would be forwarded to US Embassy.

Nov 23 Returned packet 3 to Embassy

Feb 1 Interview. APPROVED!

Feb 2 Visa delivered.
