Sincerely,

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

But the big BUT here is that my AOS is pending due to AO needs to see more evidence of bonafide marriage. The AO gave us a checklist of the documents to submit and gave us until April 24 to comply. We are about to send the documents because I have all documents ready for mailing today or tomorrow.

I have filed for EAD extension January 24, since the first issued card expired, and actually waiting for the new card to come until I received this email from CRIS and AOS approved?

IS THIS A MISTAKE? ANYONE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE? SHOULD I CALL THE 1800 number to clarify?

Going back to the point, since the # is now removed...

To be honest, if I were you, I'd say nothing right now!! If you receive a green card and I-797D approval notice (the sheet the card is attached to) in the mail in the next fortnight or so, you're obviously approved and have nothing to worry about.

I strongly suspect you will receive a green card but if you don't, then you might want to make an Infopass appointment and speak to an IO. The misinformation line will not be able to help with something as complicated as this.

If you're deadline for the RFE is April 24th then you've got enough breathing space to wait and see what plays out in the next 2 weeks...

Just print that page so that when problem occurs...you have a proof.

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

Agree with JeremyR on saying nothing!

Oh I hope the IO did not mix up another couple's file with yours as it may mean the other couple may receive a denial message as they fail to submit additional evidence (as they never was asked to).

USCIS wanted to see more documentation showing both our names together, like a utility bill, joint account, etc..., so I don't think somebody's file can be mixed up with ours since the AO would be looking for our names in whatever submitted documents re: our case.

Random thought that occurred to me just now: Just check that the receipt number shown in Case Status Online matches the number on your NOA1 and that you are definitely getting emails about your own case. Sounds silly I know but if there's doubt about the validity of a 'approval notice sent' email, that should be the first thing you check.

Assuming you are watching the right case number then bear in mind something that's being reported quite frequently in the 'status updates' forum: officers who conduct AOS interviews having their work looked over by a supervisor before a final decision is made. Normally this involves the supervisor OK'ing the approval of an application but it stands to reason that it could also work the other way around where the officer thinks more evidence is needed but the supervisor disagrees and instructs them to approve the case.

Approving an AOS case isn't just a matter of ticking a little box and sticking the file away somewhere - federal databases get updated, secure documents get ordered and mailed out, statistics get recorded and paper-trails are created. Point is, it's not something they do lightly - I very much doubt they 'mistakenly approve' any cases - can you imagine the problems it could cause? Watch your mailbox in about 10-14 days - I'd be amazed if you don't get a green card in the mail and find out that yes, you really were approved.

If you don't get the approval notice & card, send in the additional evidence as requested then take an InfoPass appointment ASAP and ask the immigration officer what is going on.
