Hi guys...

My father-in-law sponsors me because my husband is not working full time and he still studying. My husband is graduating this this june and he's employed as after school tutor, working 3-5 hours 5 days a week. My husband stop working last year so he can concentrate on his studies and so he can maintain his grades. He used to work for 8 years a night shift manager in a supermarket in Napa. But he got employed last year also september. Though his salary is below the poverty level because he is not working fulltime. Thats why my father-in-law wants to help us to have a good start.

My concern is that will it possible for me to pass the interview even if my petitioner is not my husband?

My husband is only child of his dad and my father-in-law is making $100,000 a year income. He is seprated and nobody is depending on him.

My interview schedule is april 20 im realy worried about that..

Need your advice please...

Actually, your father-in-law is the co-sponsor as your husband is the sponsor as he is the petitioner. I don't see what you are worrying about. You are all set if yuo have all the paperwork for interview - tax transcripts, I-864 from husband, I-864 from FIL.

Your husrband is the petitioner. Your father in law is the sponsor. Not a problem. Family as co/joint/substitute sponsors is very common.

Correct!

incorrect. the husband is the petitioner and the sponsor (as far as the I-864 goes). the father-in-law is the joint-sponsor.

Just as an FYI - The petitioner must provide an Affidavit of Support, even if they do not meet the income requirements and even if a joint sponsor’s Affidavit of Support will be providing all of the actual financial support.

Upsss :bonk:, I forget that. She is correct. You father in-law is just the joint-sponsor of your husband.

Sorry for the misunderstanding :bonk:

Right?

Yes, your husband is required to file one I-864 Affidavit Of Support no matter if he don't make enough income and if that is the case, you will only need to find a co-sponsor as you guys already did (your father in-law).

Does US Embassy manila approving co-sponsor? WHat are my chances?

You know what mamalou last time has her interview with K-3 visa also I talked to her yesterday she's here in the US already and your worries both the same, becuase her husband's income below poverty line and her petitioner has a co-sponsor too, but she got approved without showing her petitioner co-sponsor documents, to be safe bring your petitioner's co-sponsor just in case better be prepared!, documents that proved that your marital relationship is genuine that's the most important thing, good luck!
