Your past income will help, but can you find a cosponsor? The bank statements you must provide will show that you are no longer receiving enough income. In addition, your ability to sponsor her can be questioned when you are interviewed. Getting a job, of course, needs to be high on your list of things to do. Good luck!

You do not need to provide bank statements, if you have other means to show support. (specifically, if your using savings as assets to cover the needed level)

As you suggest, getting a co-sponsor should be a priority, and/or getting a new job.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I would fill out the documents and submit your 3 years of tax returns and if you still have a pay slips from 4 months ago do that to since it shows you met the requirements. That way the ball gets rolling for you. In the mean time...

A. Try to get a job

B. Try to find a co sponser.

Now you may end up with an RFE regarding what you've sent in (ie. they may say your pay slip isn't current enough). When that happens you can then get a cosponsor. You may luck out and they may give you an appointment (and don't ask you about your work at the appointment....obviously don't lie if they do...at which point they'll give you an RFE).

So basically, get what evidence you can, send it off and at least you get the ball rolling before an RFE eventually comes (either before or during an interview). You might even luck out and they never dig deeper.

I can imagine quite a few people sent their AOS stuff in and have since lost their jobs...they'll all be quietly hoping it doesn't come up in the interview.

If you think you need a co-sponsor, get one and present that at the interview.

Correct. Unless he receives unemployment, that counts as income.
