: I am in Jordan. I want to go to the USA with my fiancee and unfortunately she isnt making the most money as she was downsized at work and the economy isn't the best in the USA. Does she have to be the sponser on my application? Or can it be someone else? :help:

most countries allow a co-sponsor or added sponsor

You may need an ADDITIONAL sponsor if your fiance does not meet the income requirements. She will still have to complete the I-134 (and later once you are married and in the US she will have to file an I-864) as well as the co-sponsor.

Its a good idea to look for a co-sponsor. However, I do know a VJer who was successful with a K1 visa although he was receiving unemployment benefits. I don't know the details, perhaps he had enough in assets. But you and your fiance should discuss her complete financial resources. I only mention this in case you have difficulty finding a co-sponsor.

Hello, You may need to ask how much is the poverty level in the US. Because if she is over that even a little she can still qualify I think.

In my case my husband was co sponsored my by aunt because he left his job and lived with me here in the Phils. So, we used the income of my aunt instead. You need to call NVC for guidance.

Hope this helps you.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
