Hello!

Will I be notified if the I-864 I sent for my parents are approved or something?

My parents received email that I can pay for the $400 fee together with the approval of the Choice of Agent last month.

I'm confused, can I pay the $400 now before mailing the DS 230 and supporting documents?

No, pay the bill. Wait for it to clear. Print out the barcoded cover sheet. And send in your DS230 package. No need to wait for NVC to send you any thing.

2-08-10: received interview on 3-22-10 @ 9:00 AM

If your parents received the IV Fee Bill Email then go ahead and Pay the $400 fee and wait for couple of days for the status to change to 'PAID", once the status is changed to PAID then you can send the DS-230 documents package.

They will not notify if I-864 is approved but they will issue an RFE if something is missing with I-864. You can call them (NVC) and find out the status of I-864.

ARE YOU USING THE ONLINE Electronic Payment Portal?

If not, then sure - you can send the payment and the documents together.

If you ARE USING the Online Electronic Payment Portal - then pay it now, check back in 2 days, print the receipt, take the coversheet and all of the DS-230 docs, and send it in.
