hi all

we have FINALLY got our interview date. its is april 7th at 9 am ... Just a few questions.

I still need to send my fiance a letter of intent to marry. and a letter from my employer.

The London consular sent my fiance this email:

On the day of the visa interview you will be required to furnish a notarized statement from the petitioner confirming her intention to marry you within 90 days of your arrival in the United States.

Sincerely

Consular Information Unit

When they say notarized do they mean notarized by me???

(sorry if this is a stupid question)

also i am a bit nervous about my affidavit of support. I am a bartender but i work for marriott hotels. So my hourly wage is low (i work mostly for tips) and with my tips i make way more then enough to support kevin. But there is really no way of me showing that i make this much money so when i get my letter from my employer what should it say??? I do have a co sponser as well.

I gave my fiance the I-134 one from me and one from our co sponser and i gave all my pay stubs from this year and my 2006 2007 and 2008 W2 forms . My co sponser only gave her 2008 W2 form.. is this sufficiant enough or is there anything else we should include??

thanks for your all your help and helping me along the stages of this process

If they want notarized Intent Letter you need to take to a Notary Public (look in phone book) and they will notarize that it is actually YOU that signs the document and apply a seal/stamp on it.

If you tax forms don't show your tips (which they should if you claim them and pay your taxes on them) and you don't meet poverty level then YES you will need co-sponsor. Likewise you will need their w-2 and tax information to send with the I-134 they supplied to you.

Good Luck and hope this helps you

Dude, I guess I'm lucky to be Portuguese... I hear the craziest stories coming from other countries! what the hell

I'm having my interview in a couple days. I already have all the documentation, plus some photos of me and her together.

If something is missing in interview day, I believe you should be able to show it to them later. It wouldn't make sense otherwise!

I understand you being nervous, but after so much pain and frustration and stress, I got tired of being nervous. I did what they asked, what else can I do? If they sent me an email like that, I'd just reply and say "I can't have that in time for the interview, but I cant try to send it later".

my fiance already has all of the stuff for his interview we have EVERYTHING phone bills, 100'2 of pictures passport stamps

i am not nervous about any of this. we have more then enough to prove our relationship.

what i am nervous about it the Support documents. Its the only part of this process that is confusing. tons of people ask questions everyday about the I-134 and what is needed.. and i am still unclear about this.

I have 2 weeks to get the letter of intent to my fiance which is fine. I can have that to him in 2 days.

What I need to know is EXACTLY what me and our co sponser need to provide for the interview. should our co sponser have a letter from her employer as well?

also what should my employer write in the letter would something like this be sufficient?

Dear Sir or Madam:

This letter is to confirm that Chelsea Marciano is employed by the Marriott. This is a permanent, full time position. She has been employed with this company since September 2005. Chelsea makes an hourly wage of $5.22 an hour plus her daily tips.

Please feel free to contact us if your office should require any further information

Sincerely ,

thanks.

In your hypothetical scenario you would not pass the interview / get the visa and thus would have to wait until you did supply the requested info for the CO to examine the requested document(s). Why not do what's needed to secure the visa approval on interview day?

The OP is tying up the loose ends so that they get the visa on interview day.

Get the letter notarized as mentioned before. Simply done.

The I-134 is a short term form that will be in force until AOS when you (USC) supply the I-864 Affidavit of Support which is a binding contract that requires more complete documentation. Providing more than a W-2 for the other sponsor is advisable. (see the I-134 instructions for Supporting Evidence) Does your tax return show that you made enough to meet the earnings minimum? If so then you will be the sponsor selected (the sponsors are not blended, it's either one or another).

Remember that for the AOS the I-864 sponsor's income must be 125% of the poverty guidelines.

Best of luck. Sounds like you're almost there!

Hey, do NOT jinx other people. You have no right to talk to me like that.

In MY situation, they didn't ask me for no notarized letter from my fiancee, just the documentation we all know, and "any evidence of ongoing relationship" which I believe some photos and our college cards are enough to prove (and if they're not, they failed to provide me with a complete list of things).

This is a forum for mutual help and I was doing my part by saying what I believe, and trying to comfort the OP.

If you wanna start bashing, 2 can play that game. If I didn't pass the interview, don't make it sound like it would be MY fault - I have everything that was asked of me, ready to bring to them.

The rule in London is if your NOA2 is more than 4 months old at the time of the interview, you must provide a notarized statement of intent to marry. Nothing to worry about. Around here you can get things notarized at small banks.

oooooooooooh thats why. we have our interview at the london embassy on the 27th of April. or should i say , i have the interview. i was wondering why they asked for the letter of intent, thanks for clearing that up.
