My wife and I had the interview March 19. they said her medical had to be re-done because it was 1 yr old, (we have 30 days to give them a new one) this is our second time applying, and there was no problem the 1st time with her medical so we thought another 250 dollars for the medical and eveything will be done. we made the appointment right away. As she was at the doctors, hepatitis B (which is fine, but why didnt she need the 1st time?) hepatitis A (which again is fine, but she didnt need the 1st time either) but now also the doctor said she need Gardisil ( has any female had to get this vaccination?) and Meningitis vacciantion.

We search the USCIS for more info and this is what we found...

By law, the required vaccines include: mumps, measles,

rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, pertussis,

influenza, hepatitis B, haemophilus influenzae type B,

varicella, pneumococcal, rotavirus, hepatitis A,

meningococcal, human papillomavirus, zoster, and any other

vaccinations recommended by the Advisory Committee for

Immunization Practices (ACIP).

If anyone knows something different please let us know! we only have 30 days and all of the shots add up to $1,190.

Under 27 years old and she is required to have the HPV vaccine. She doesnt have to have all three shots (unless she is actually interested in having all three) she only needs to start the programme, the programme is 3 shots over 6 months.

That is alot of money, did you phone up a few Civil surgeons? can't you go to a local health clinic and get the shots done (HPV, Meningtus etc;) and then have the medical done at the Civil surgeon? they will probably be alot cheaper, infact my HPV was free.

The reason she needs more shots now (including Gardasil if under 27) is that they changed the vaccination requirements last year- in July 08 I think.

I think the OP meant $1190 Pesos Argentinos, not dollars. Same about the medical $250

I don't think the Gardisil vaccine could be found for free in Argentina since it is not in the vaccination calendar, but it would not hurt to ask. Also, if she has health insurance she may be able to get it discounted with a doctor's prescription.

ETA: Sorry, replied assuming they are applying for K3 and are at the embassy stage, but I realize now they could be filing for AOS from another visa as well. My bad if that is the situation.

OP, please :time:

Saludos,

Caro
