Okay well don't think you'll get the K-3 though I think you'll get the IR1 since K-3 isn't really giving that much more.

I have been in here a year reading and with CR1 and IR1 people have always been waiting at the NVC stage.

But I wish you the best and hope something will happen soon so you can be with your family.

Thx

Well we did try the k3, but it was a long shot.

You need some lead time between the x-rays and blood tests and the actual doctor's visit. The blood needs to be sent to Oslo for analysis, and then the results need to be sent to the visa physician. I basically sent them an email saying "I just did my x-rays and blood tests, can you give me an appt at the earliest possibility?" on a Monday and got an appt for it the following Wednesday.

As for taking the X-Ray, I used Unilabs in the city where I live and they could do it on a drop-in basis at any time.

Actually, it's possible to do it all in one day, that's how I did it. You just need to let the doctor know you're not bringing all the papers in on the day of your medical appointment, it's okay if they receive it afterwards. They won't send any information to the Embassy until they have all of it.

Book your medical first since the other appointments are drop in or have shorter waiting periods, and then schedule everything around your medical. I called Unilabs for my x-ray the day before my medical appointment at KAL-klinikken, went there early in the morning on the day of my medical appointment, and then I went straight to Ullevaal Hospital for my blood test (they only do drop in as far as I'm aware). I got lucky and got it done immediately, but you should be prepared for waiting there for a while. You won't get the result from the blood test that day, but the hospital will send the information directly to KAL-klinikken when it's ready. Afterwards you're all set for your medical later that day, don't forget to get both Unilabs and Ullevaal to sign your "request for x-ray and serological test" sheet!

I lived in Oslo and only missed a couple hours off work that day (I was done with x-ray and blood test before 10 AM and had to leave early for my medical at 3 PM), if you don't have a job in Oslo and have the entire day off it's even easier than it was for me. Good luck.

I used Unilabs in Oslo (somewhere in east Oslo) as well. This was over three years ago, so I'm not sure how relevant the information is today. However, I went as a drop-in. Waited about an hour or so and was done within 20 minutes.

The more I read the less I know :( Our sponsor is finally ready to send us his paperwork. My mother-in-laws husband will be our sponsor since she isn't working and he is filling out the I-864. Does my mother-in-law have to fill out anything for example the I-864A? And if yes, what do paperwork do we need from her? I'm thinking we don't need anything from her but please correct me if I'm wrong :)

Only your spouse and the sponsor (MIL's hubby) needs to fill out the I-864.

They really don't care who the sponsor is, be it your brother, mother-in-law or Harrison Ford. As long as someone signs it and the government can legally go after that person, the fine men and women of the USCIS are happy.

A big thank you to all of you who answered my question :) When one question is answered I end up having new ones poping up right away :P We are still waiting for our joint sponsors paperwork to arrive in the mail and we are struggling with our own I-864 form. There are two things on my mind right now. In part 5 household size it says add the number you put in 28, one will auto populate to 1 and add 1 if you are married. Add up the numbers in 1-7. 1+1+1=3 but there's only two in our household. It says don't count a person twice so should I just put 2 there even though the "correct" answer according to the form is 3 or do I need to put 0 somewhere? And my last questions for now are: my husband sent in paperwork for his foreign income for 2012-2014 just a few weeks ago (1040+2555-ez) because he was given the incorrect information from the irs that he doesn't need to file taxes when living abroad.... we haven't received any confirmation from the irs yet that they have filed his taxes. Does NVC need his 1040 or can we just write a letter stating he filed the taxes or give them copies of the forms we sent to the irs? I'm thinking that since his foreign income doesn't qualify him to be my sponsor then they are not interested in seeing that paperwork... But I bet you I'm wrong :) Our joint sponsor is sending us everything NVC ask for in the cover sheet :)

You have to submit the tax returns and whatever you used as proof of income for them even if you aren't using it for sponsorship unless you were not required to file or have the tax transcripts (which is unlikely this soon).

If it says don't count a person twice, don't. ;)

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

If it's just you and your husband, then your household size is two. 1 is for the intended immigrant and then you write one for the USC, you don't add yourself twice so you leave spouse blank. Remember that the i-864 is used for all sorts of visas, not just the CR/IR-1. :)

If your husband isn't required to file taxes, you need to submit a statement explaining the reason why. We wrote "I confirm under penalty of perjure that I have not been required to file taxes due to XYZ". If your husband is required to file taxes, then you need to submit the IRS transcript with the i-864

Thanks guys! Ugh this means we have to wait for my husbands transcripts. Who knows when they wil show up.... Poop :( The household part doesn't make any sense to me. Wonder why you are supposed to put 1 for me, 1 is automatically generated for my hubby and then they want you to write 1 if we are married 0 if single... 1+1+1=3 We'll just write 2, in worst case they will just send us an rfe. On the bright side I have my husband living with me, if he was back in Texas I'd be heartbroken. I can't wait til all of this is over and we've barely started lol Thank you again for all your help! :)

They don't want you to write one for married if the petition is for a spouse, that's why the instructions says DON'T COUNT ANYONE TWICE. :)

Like I said, you have to remember that this form is used for more than just the CR/IR-1 visa. If it's a husband petitioning for a wife, you put 1 under intended immigrant and the 1 for the petitioner comes automatically, hence the household size is 2 due to "don't count anyone twice". If it's a married man petitioning for his brother, they would put 1 under intended immigrant, 1 would come automatically for the petitioner and then they would put 1 for the petitioner's wife, hence a household size of 3.

You will not get a checklist for your AOS household because if it's just you and your husband, you have a household of two. Try thinking of this form like a universal form for all visas, not just the spousal visa, and it will make much more sense. :)

Thanks guys! Ugh this means we have to wait for my husbands transcripts. Who knows when they wil show up....

They don't really show up per se and it could be months. Why not just submit the tax returns with whatever the foreign equivalent of the W-2 is? That is perfectly acceptable.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

How do I do that? Can I send them copies of the 1040/2555-ez that we sent to the irs? I'm sorry that I'm asking so many questions. US taxes are so confusing to me. My husband is dyslexic so I'm the one reading and filling everything out. When he did his taxes in the US he just brought his w2's to a person who filled out everything for him so he is clueless. We don't have w2's in Sweden.

Thanks mallafri76 for breaking it down to me in that easy understandable way. I think I overcomplicate everything by over analyzing, the more I read the less I understand.

You guys are the best! :D

This is from another post, but no one looking at it :)

So you good ppl may know :)

Hi

So today i got the paper version of noa2.

After reading it, i´m a bit lost.

It says it runs out 03/19/2016, do i have to be done and in the US at that time ?

It also says i have a "alien" number the A*** *** *** , i know what it is, but why is that on the k3 and not my noa2 (I-130).

I know that if the I-130 is given a number before the k3, they will close the k3.

But right now they a both at the NVC, so is I-129F done faster then the I-130 ?

Thx for the dorum and all the nice ppl in here

I just found my passport and the alien number is the same as i had in 2008 when i last had a greencard.

Does it mean they have most the info they need now ?

I have social number and florida id card also.
