No good will come from a man who can't speak without his familiar...

That should really be read with an old witchy voice to get the full effect :)

I'm lost without my GPS.

The wife gets lost even with the GPS. Something about the woman's voice from ours causes her to not believe the directions sometimes.

Even the CEOs of multimillion dollar corporations uses teleprompter. CeBIT, CES Conference, etc...The speaker have always use some sort of speeking tool to keep track of where they are, and to get what they wanted to say across. Without it, they would probably loose some key points that they need to address.

"What are your thoughts on tribal soveriegnty?"

"They're soveriegn. That's its....I think they should be soveriegn."

I use to give long seminars, some lasting 40 hours, but had my book of notes, and yes, you have to be prepared, preparation is the most important part. Every audience is different and will bring up different questions that can affect your train of thought, the reason for the notes. An off-topic subject can be brought up, but have to stay the course and get back on course. Those were very long tiring days and afterwards, always somebody if not a lot of them, want to buy you a drink.

Also have to keep it interesting, a teleprompter would be nice, what's wrong with using one. Did you ever get up in front of a large group of people? Only had 300 maximum, millions, I feel would make me nervous.

So you think George is more intelligent?
By 'hero' you meant George W? You don't me at all. George was trying to spend us into oblivion and Obama is finishing the job.

Besides, Obama's inability to speak without a teleprompter doesn't require a comparison.

Do you think George was a better less-bad speaker?
Fixed your question to answer it (my answer, not proxy for LS).

Jorge Jr. was less bad as a person, and also less bad as a speaker than Big Hubris Zero!

I think the title of this story is... incorrect.

A "safety net" is in place on the rare occasion you need it.

According to the report, Obama is the first President to depend the teleprompter for even the smallest events.

I would say rather than a safety net, it is his crutch or wheelchair, he can't go any where without it.

To me it is interesting but meaningless as to the kind of President he will be.

It's interesting because he has billed himself as a "great public speaker", when in fact he is more "parroting" the words on Glass. But that aside, I over looked Bushes speech challenges as inconsequential to his actions and I will do the same with Obama.

... However, it's always more fun to yell "The emperor has no clothes" when it's not your Guy.

Hmmm... When did Obama "bill himself" as a great public speaker?

Perhaps this is something that commentators have ascribed to him?

Don't make me Laugh PD, do you really believe all these "nick names" are birthed by the press?

These are "talking" points put out to "friendly press" with the intention they catch on.

Obama is not unique to this.

All of these phrases.

steady nerve, unflappable, introspective, cool beyond belief, comfortable in his skin.

Catch phrases for and against Obama go out daily to talking heads, why do you think they all use the exact same expression at the same time>

Rush has a ball with this every Monday by playing back2back the talking heads over the weekend and how they all parrot the same phrases.

In fact last week he was talking about how the RNC send him the same type of catch phrases from the Right.

The first time I took note of this was when Bush choose Cheney as his running mate.

Every talking head kept using the Phrase "Bush needs Gravitas".

It's a rather rare word for all the talking heads to come up with at the same time but there they all were, as you flip from Channel to channel using it.

Interesting, when Obama selected Biden .. no one used the word?

The talking point there was "he was rounding out his resume'"
