nothing. they just test the newbies to see if they would be obedient citizens or not.

To each is a goal to which God turns him; then strive together (as in a race) Towards all that is good.

Wheresoever ye are, God will bring you Together. For God Hath power over all things.

(Quran, Chapter 2: verse 148)

Actually it's all the documentation you handed over at the interview. Medical, Affadavit of Support etc.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

what is in the sealed envelope you get with your visa? just curious....

It has everything the US embassy reviewed prior to the interview. Even the original forms either the I-129F and/or I-130, DS-230 and all other documents are included in the envelope. The POE officer then sends that to the USCIS and they keep it on file.

Your "file" comes back with you. It is sent to the office which handles AOS. When you file the AOS, they put it together with your AOS filing and send it to the local office where you have your AOS interview (IF you have an AOS interview). I understand from our interview officer (if that means anything) that the file will then stay with the local office, unless at some future date we move and report a new address and then they would send it to the local office for that area. Your file will follow you around the country until you become a citizen
