Ben did kill the whole Dharma people including his own dad, he hung Charlie, he controls smokey (as proven last season when he let smokey attack those freighter people)......so if he can control smokey he also let smokey go and kill the pilot, mr Eko and others. Ben also took away Rousseau's daughter.

when killing that commander of freighter Ben didn't care that the freighter was loaded with bombs and everyone in the freighter could die. anyways i am sure in the end we will get to know all the reasons behind his doing, but there have been more than a few incidents where ben has shown the bad guys trait

In a show like LOST killing people left and right is not exactly proof of being the bad guy. Everyone and their mothers have killed in this show. I still think we don't have a good and bad side on LOST, we just have sides.

now c'mon! you compare Kate to Ben? there is a difference! "Sometimes good people kill bad people and it's acceptable" I agree with Nessa, but in Ben's case it is a totally different story. We don't know all the answers yet, and I hope that writers will explain everything, but for now Ben is a bad, bad guy. As an actor he is wonderful and believeable and I like him for that, there I said it. I don't know much about Charles W. but I am doing my research. What I hear about him is not good either!

i think Ben is not bad, he's just manipulative and he knows more about the island than most people and they get them to do what's best for everybody.
