Ah....but what he doesn't tell you is this....

I'm at school...fixing to have lunch (or dinner) and we start talking about the K-1. We agree it's a good idea and just as I'm about to pop a bite in my mouth he says "Well, I need to ask you something....Will you marry me?" Sigh...best cellphone call I've ever had! By the end of the day practically the whole school knew I was officially engaged.

We were out hiking, and we had just got back to the car and were looking around the parking area going "Wow, it's so nice today."

Him: "It's such a beautiful day today."

Me: "Yeah, it really is."

Him: "Okay, so I wasn't going to do this yet, but it's such a beautiful day I can't wait any longer. Will you marry me?"

Me: *totally drowns out the last three words by yelling "yes!"*

I went to Athens for the entire month of January 2006. Before I got there, we had talked about marriage and engagement so I knew something was going to happen in January.

The month rolls on, we go out to many dinners, we see friends of his, we go to the Acropolis, we see a friend of his sing at a buzukia restaurant, we go to a lake, etc. and no proposal. He is killing me with this and towards the end of the month I say to him " I hate to bring this up but don't you remember something important that we talked about before I came here?" He says "Yes". So then I ask, "is it going to happen?" and he says "Yes". I sleep peacefully that night

January 29th (of course he waits till the last minute (handwriting on the wall)

He tells me to get dressed we are going out for a special dinner.

He comes out all dressed up in a suit and looks so handsome.

We drive to a beautiful restaurant on the water front. We go upstairs and there is soft American jazz music playing. The place is all decorated in white and red candles are lit everywhere. We sit by the windows and look out over the ocean and the Acropolis is lit up at night on the mountain top.

We have an amazing dinner and now it's time for dessert. The dessert will take 25 minutes to prepare, no problem. We are enjoying each others company.

Througout the entire meal my honey is constantly checking his suit jacket pocket.

Then he takes my hands across the table and starts to speak. He tells me how important I have made his life. That he knew from the first time he saw me that I was his other half. He got choked up and tears came to his eyes, he then asked "do I give you the ring now?" and of course I said "YES".

I will never forget that night. How he looked, what we wore, how he proposed. He made me the happiest woman that night, he truly is my answer to all my years of prayers.
