signature is first name only

My finance is in India. He has signed his G-325A and letter of intent to marry, but his signature is just his first name. He says that he signed his passport the same way. Will they reject based on his signature not including his last name? He says that everyone in India signs this way and if he changes then it won't match the signature on his passport.

A signature does NOT have to include the last name!!!

A "signature" is a signature. There is no requirement it make sense or even be legible to human beings (ever see a Dr.s signature on a prescription?) If it is his signature as appears on his passport then you better use it just as is. My wife's signature in illegible but looks for all the world like a single letter of some sort of strange alpahabet. We never had a problem.

Wow...if you only have a chance to see one of my friend's signature you probably will need someone who can read egytpian drawings hehehe
