What do you mean ?

its not true. the norm waiting period is 6-8 months, whether you filed in december or March. I think this person is concidering the holidays like christmas and NYE...however that only slows things down a total of a week. so to that person...if you dont know...dont say.

Ive been on this site for 3 yrs...there is no trend for this.

Yeah they aren't going to give priority to some just because they filed after Christmas. Well you would hope not.

This graph shows that VSC did trend down last year 2008 after Christmas. The data is only from VJ member timelines, not the whole VSC.

Where you see the biggest dip, keep in mind that those month figures are showing the days to NOA2. In the April dip it was taking about 60 days average so go back 60 days to know when they filed...February.

For many who filed in Feb 2008 at VSC, it was much faster than 60 days to receive the NOA2.

Look at these profiles.

Well..although we mailed in the files end of Dec. they weren't received until January.

I think I'd have a panic attack if they were approved in 18 days!!! LOL LOL It might be a dream to some, but I still won't mind the "usual; average" timeline...

Don't count on it this year. In Summer 2007 there was a super surge of petitions because the applicants were trying to file before the big fee increase. So they got way backlogged and approvals were taking a long, long time. USCIS hired and trained 1500(?) new employees maybe authorized overtime, and they started catching up is why the dip. They have continued to promise to try to streamline the process and deal with the backlogs going forward but only time will tell. The number of employees and overtime is a vague memory so that's just a rough explanation of how it went, rather than a quoted fact.
