Anyone's baby ever have an umbilical hernia?

Staashi my IRL girlfriend's baby did - does Enzo?

I'll ask her about it, I *think* he had a surgery on it or maybe they just talked about it, I cant quite remember now (he's 5) but I'll have her remind me and let you know. Or call me :)

Arghhh...Zak is teething. What a miserable little baby I had this weekend. It looks like two bottom teeth are starting to come through. He was even running a low grade fever off and on during the day yesterday.

Congrats Jay Jay and Booty!

Yeah, it looks like it...it is very mild but I'm still concerned. I'm going to take him to the dr next week.

Jona had an umbillical hernia that resolved itself when he was about 5 months old. Within the first 12 months most hernias resolve themselves. The doctor just kept an eye on it and even said that if it doesn't resolve by 12 months, they still don't do anything about it as is mostly resolves by age 2. Only rare cases require surgery at that point, and they do it apparently rather later than earlier. So I wouldn't worry that much :)

Chrissy25@ Sofis' cord fell when she was 1 week old.

Staashi@ Sofi has thta, but th doctor told us not to worry about it, just wait.

Last night Sofia slept on her little "cave", my mom "build" a little cave in her crib, she put a blanket as a roof and is pretty dark, it worked for her. She is taking a nap right now, I should do the same thing.

10 days for Ben. It differs. Wasn't there a baby here on VJ whose cord fell off like 6 weeks p.p.?

about the umbilical hernia: it's common in premies' and they usually wait until the child is 1 year old before doing anything.

Declan is sick yet again. When I went to pick him up at daycare, he had a fever of 105!!! My poor little guy. He's responding to Motrin and the fever is down to about 101 now. I don't know if this is related to his ongoing ear infection (we are on the second dose of 10 day antibiotics) or is something different.

I called the doctor from his daycare to find out if I should bring him in (20 minutes one way) or go home (25 minutes in the other direction). The doctor said to call if the fever reached 106 or if he wasn't taking liquids and his behavior changed. His fever has gone down. I'll keep monitoring it and will see how he does. Daddy is not feeling well either, so we are wondering if we picked up a bug when we were in CT this past weekend visiting my family.
