Jona didn't sleep much in his first months either. As soon as he fell asleep and I tried to put him down he woke up. So he slept on my chest most nights cause that worked. I was fine with that and didn't mind as we both got good sleep. My DH's approach was the crib soother: the swaddled baby in the crib with a heartbeat running. It worked too, but did take too long for my taste (like 10 minutes).

At 3 months he started to sleep more. It's just very normal. If your baby sleeps in a separate room, I strongly recommend to move the crib into your room right next to you. Hearing you breathing relaxes baby when they have the slight sleep stages and helps them falling back asleep.

I'm getting anxious about getting big. Not because of the looking fat thing, but about being uncomfortable and feeling heavy. :(

Caro don't worry. I didn't feel uncomfortable with the belly, just sleeping on it was no option (I usually sleep on my belly). The only bad thing for me was heartburn the last 10 days of pregnancy. Otherwise, you just get used to that belly. :) Get comfy on your couch with plenty water and yummie foods and the remote control - it's what I did :P

@Chrissy: i was very calm. I guess things like that, surgeries, etc don't scare me. Are you having a cs?

@Caro: It is not that bad. I think the worse is that u can't put your shoes on without a lot of effort, you can't shave, and if you're like me, it'll hurt to walk in the end. The thing I'd hate if I were in your shoes is summer coming up. I'm that kind of person that gets swollen like a blowfish when it's warm. I'd so hate that.

Nessa@ That's true, at least I have my parents to help me. Last night Sofia woke up just once!!!! she was really good to abuelo and abuela (grandma and grandpa) so I hope that they keep her with them tonight  . I'm suppoused to go back to work on September but to be honest I'm not sure if that is going to happen. Before having her I said that I was 100% about going back to work but not that number went down alot. This is my first baby and I don't want to miss anything plus my sister in law's kids (she is the one that will babysit Sofia) get sick all the time and we are really worried about it.

Caro@ Get used to the idea, I'm consider petite and gained a total of 22 pounds and OMG I was really big, well, just my belly but still, I love to sleep facing down but when I was pregnant forget it! and just to stand up was a real problem, hubby had to help me all the time but is all worth it, en serio :star: .

Today my parents went to visit the city so I'm by myself enjoying some time with Sofia, she is sleeping next to me.

Hope you girls are having a great day

Hugs

Vi

@ Vi and Nessa: Zak was extremely fussy in those early weeks as well. I resorted to sleeping with him on my chest in the recliner so I could get 2-3 hours of continuous sleep. He HATED to be put into his crib next to my side of the bed. We tried everything we could think of: batheing before bed, swaddling, heart beat sounds etc. Nope. It finally ended up being dressing him in two layers of clothes and having him sleep in the boppy pillow in crib next to me with a pacifer that finally did the trick. At almost 4 months, I can just put him into his crib at bedtime in his normal jammies (no boppy necessary) and he will quickly fall asleep. It truly will get better!

@ Chrissy: I was nervous before my c-section and I knew from 28 weeks it was coming. It didn't help matters much that my time got delayed because of an emergency c-section. I would think it abnormal if you weren't thinking about it. It is major surgery - it just has one of the best results in the end!

Even though I'm in the second trimester; I can't get myself to eat anything when I get up until like 5 hours later which is when I'm about to faint!! I know it's not right but I can't stand food at all! I hear how pregnant women eat all the time and have this huge appetite and I don't have that at all!

did this happen to anyone?

when i woke up i couldn't wait 5 min to eat. I was always starving. You shouldn't get to a point where you're about to faint. Even if you're not hungry, don't spend 5 hours without eating, have a fruit, a yogurt, milk, cereal, just so your stomach won't be empty. Have a snack every clouple of hours, you won't feel full. Not eating for that long is not good for the baby. You need more calories and good fat to help with the baby's brain development.

HLM, I didn't have a lot of m/s or nausea, but I lost my appetite in the first trimester, and it continued a few weeks into the second trimester. And then it came back  I could tolerate veggies pretty well, though, for some strange reason. Do you think you could handle something like a yogurt smoothie first thing in the morning, just something to get some vitamins, carbs, and protein into you to start the day so you don't hit the wall after a few hours?

thank you ladies for all your suggestions. Where do I buy yerba mate? Is that a tea? I am not a tea person so I am not sure where to get that, but I am willing to try almost anything as long as it's safe. I have tried olive oil and orange juice but it hasn't worked.

Well we had our pedi appointment yesterday. Ben hasn't gained an ounce in the last 2 months. I am not too concerned because he has a healthy weight but it is kind of weird. His doc insists that there is no underlying problem. He says that in 99% of the cases the constipation is idiopatic and will go away. He put Ben on an additional stool softener- he is now supposed to take 5 different laxatives and stool softeners - adult strentgh- a DAY.

It got so bad on the weekend that we gave him a suppository and it has helped- he had huge amounts of bm's during the last days and is finally getting cleared out, but today the consistency has been getting harder again. It really sucks, I tried to explain to the doc that all the laxatives don't work, he only poops when we give him a suppository but he doesn't believe it. Like I would just make that up for fun. I showed him a picture of Ben's bleeding rectum and the hemorrhoids but he still thinks that this is just a temporary issue. I don't know what to believe anymore. Part of me hopes that he is right and that it will go away but then he gets constipated every week and turns into a complete different little boy. I really worry that he will be permanently traumatized. The GI doctor hasn't gotten back to me, it's ridiculous, like they don't even take you serious.

@Chrissy: good luck with your c-section! Can't wait to see a pic of little Molly!

@Vi: I hope things will get better sleep-wise! Is she sleeping in your room? When Ben was very little he slept a lot better when he was in our bed close to me or in his bassinet next to the bed.

@Caro: you will be so used to your belly, when you finally deliver the baby you will be shocked that it is gone. (or most of it).

Nessa and Caybee- I try to have milk in the morning and cookie just to have anything in my system....But we bought yoghurt today and I will start having one in the morning until I'm ready to eat....I'm ok with some fruits so sometimes I skip real food and keep eating fruits and may be a salad at the end of the day. Thank you ladies for your suggestions.
