I worked for Cingular (briefly) back in 2005. They paid extra if you had a degree. This guy in my training class presents his online diploma. The supervisor checks it and informs him that he knows the guy bought it online. The guy calls the diploma mill and raises he!!. They tell him he needs an upgrade for the diploma to be valid, so he sent them another $400.

My husband teaches several online courses- I think it is really cool that you can take courses from home.

But as far as the ad goes- I still don't see how it would entice people.

i already signed up..for what class i do not know///

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Online courses are complete ####### unless they are offered by an accredited university. All of these for-profit universities make you think you are really getting a degree when all you're getting is a certificate. The HR lady at my office always laughs when she sees "University of Phoenix, or "ECPI" on a resume, and immediately files them under "T" for trash. Give me $25,000 and I will produce a signed document that says your a doctor! It's the same flipping thing! Don't get ripped off! :jest:

UOP is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association

BTW, So is Arizona State (Arizona State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.) and just about every institution in the following states

The Higher Learning Commission accredits institutions in: Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Wyoming.

UOP is pretty well respected nowadays, at least in some fields. My mom got her BSN through UOP, a combination of online and live classes. The hospital she was working for actually paid her tuition, so they must have had some respect for it - and this was 10 years ago when they were just getting started.

Sex can sell anything but an education to a man. It´s one of our primal instincts right after breath and not peeing into the wind.

There are a lot of companies that use subliminal sexual messages. Disney, and Land o Lakes butter are two of them.

I mean common. You mean to tell me you don´t want this fanta?

Every employer I've ever worked for does a thorough background check, which includes verifying all credentials.

yep  the higher the position, more review.

also, the authenticity of the certificate/diploma is important therefore if its suspicious enough- it can go as far as checking the university/college.

Although this isn't an online degree, I've seen some absolutely horrible commercials for smaller colleges and/or technical schools. The one that sticks out in my mind is where these two morons are sitting in recliners and claim to be "video game developers." The reason I say "claim" is because they're doing all the work with PS2 controllers. They're not beta testing. They refer to "tweaking" the game and once again, use the PS2 controllers to do so.

Here's the clip:

There is a radio commerical that is played every ten seconds for PCPro schools, where in as little as six months, you'll have your A+ cert and a great paying and secure job! :bonk:

I notice that I can't find on their website what the tuition is. Probably exorbitant for a $200 cert.
