Hey Guys & Gals...I'm new to the website...Applied last year for a Fiance VISA and was rejected because the "Consular Officer was not convinced of our relationship." This was completely bogus as we have been together for the last 5 years and I had presented numerous amounts of supporting documentation.

So, Saima and I decided to get married in December in Lucknow, India. I have recently applied for the I-130 and am praying that everything goes smoothly. Lets get through this together!

I'm pretty sure you have to submit the I-129F to make the K3 VISA process forward. Once you receive the NOA1 it will inform you to submit a I-129F to the designated Service Center. Right, guys???

i also filed the I-130 only and do not intend to file the i-129. from my understanding, the i-129 can be used by a filer to bring the spouse here on some kind of a visa and then they can complete filing for residency here. as for the i-130 the filer files for the spouse who will enter the USA with a green card, the whole process get done in the spsouses foreign country. i am also under the impression thet both i-129 and i-130 almost are going hand in hand in terms of their processing timelines; after all they are meant to re-unite immeadiate families. they should make it easy and fast right?

I filed the I-129. We really have two options - the I-130 alone and the I-130 along with the 1-29F. Which ever one reaches the point of interview first - that is the visa your spouse will get. I should the NOA1 for the I129F this week sometime. Then I just have to wait. I'm glad we're all waiting together - I was starting to think I was the lone filer in January!

We got denied for the fiance visa too - the embassy said that my husband did't prove to them that he was going to marry me within 90 days of entering the country. Well we're married now - and yes - we can only hope and pray that we get through to 2010 and they are here with us.

Plus I found today that the phone trick that we used to use to get to talk to a live person at Vermont doesn't work anymore - they changed all the prompts! Those bastards!!!! :bonk:

So I guess the group of us will be together for the year - that's good! I need people to talk to while I wait and especially those who know what I'm going through

They are pretty much the same in processing times and you are correct, the I-130 does bring your spouse here with the greencard and that is 1040 dollars that we will save from processing fees...HOWEVER, the USCIS website does state that the I-130 could take longer and if we do get approved, we still have to wait until a visa a available. That is the part that we don't know how long will take. The K-3 approval gives them the visa pretty much immediately. Thats the why I filed the I-129F along with the I-130. I've waited enough - long enough already.....

Actually let me help you out here. For a citizen, the visa becomes emediately available so you go through the paperwork at NVC and then it's forwarded to Guyana. Look at my timeline, it only took that long because my husband had to wait for a new passport then his police clearance. When you do the K-3, i believe you have to come here and do the adjustment of status thing. GOod luck to you. :star:

we have the same time line but we don't intend to file I-129F as we've noticed that in VSC the timelines for K-3 and CR-1 are almost the same and sometimes filing I-129F can delay the process, check the timelines and you can notice that.....wish you a smooth journey, by the way, can you check your status online on uscis website??? we've tried since we got our NOA-1 and it shows an error message
