Hi everyone,

I just received my NOA 1 today. I had filed with NSC but my NOA 1 came from the CSC. There doesn't seem to be much of a delay as they received my application on May 23 so it's been a pretty standard timeline so far even with my the application being moved to the CSC. And to make it even better, when I logged on to the uscis website, the case was touched again on June 7 (my NOA 1 date was June 2).

I hope this will help anyone fretting about the moving of cases.

Well George,

That is an optimistic outlook.

Unfortunately, if anyone has noticed, the posted processing dates for all service centers have not been released in the normal 15 day interval. (Actually 20 days now). We are still hanging on to 22 May.

Why do you suppose that is? Well, I surmise that with all the movement of our petitions, they have overwhelmed themselves.

This message is posted by a first time member, who is already married to his "Fiance".

Unfortunately, that marriage took place in her country, where proper documentation is very difficult to obtain.

With that said, cheers to all the illegal aliens who will eventually get a free ride. Do it right and get screwed!

Welcome to the U.S. Government mentality.

I hope we all get a fast NOA 2. We deserve it.

George,

I received my NOA1 today from California as well (I guess it was transferred from Nebraska). Also my application was touched June 7th, so we're on the same page. Hope it all works out.

William, yeah, I totally can relate to your comments about the illegals here and how all of us are patiently waiting and jumping hurdles to complete the paperwork, and then some in Congress and President Bush think illegals should be given a pathway to citizenship. It seems hypocritical. Why should any of us do all this paperwork, if the mind set is, if you've been here illegally, you can still be a citizen.

Not to burst your bubble(s) but your fille is *always* touched right after the NOA1, think of it as finally making it to the pile.

Do not rely on the 'now processing dates', they are notorious for being wrong, not updated, being wrong, not updated on time, being wrong, not updated. Did I mention wrong & not updated?

Good luck, and I hope you hear something soon.

Yep...have to agree with Canuck.......the "touch" date after NOA1 is usually the cashing of your check......I was touched 1 week after NOA1 then witing 3 months before my NOA2 arrived.

The comment about CSC being the fastest service center is also COMPLETELY incorrect. They have been the "slowest" in recent past. Again...who knows what is really going on now with IMBRA......just stay patient and it will happen!!

There are a lot of things getting thrown into the mix here. IMBRA and the moving petitions to CSC I think are unrelated. We will just have to wait and see how things work out.

Hey Gary....Hope you and Luz are having a great reunion!!!! Are you back yet?? I sure hope you are using internet from the Phillipines cause the longer you can visit with your sweetheart...the better!!! :D

Anyways....I agree...I do not think the transfer necessarily happened because IMBRA but I think the timeframe for processing cases is a little up in the air due to the whole IMBRA thing. Again...not sure anyone really knows what is going on. I keep watching and hoping things will move fast. My good friend had her interview cancelled at the embassy due to this whole thing and I have met sooo many wonderful people through VJ that I keep hoping and praying for............. I want things to move forward for everyones sake becasue I know how hard it is to wait!!!!!

Here I have been pinching pennies, saving for the moving day. Now, with all the disruption I don't know whether to take the money and begin a Mandamus action, or simply do like Gary and head to the Black Sea beaches and enjoy the sun with my sweetheart.

Gary, your vacation experiences have me seriously considering the quick fix rather than the long term investment!! B)

they normally touch files after NOA1 within the next few days - ours was touched after NOA1 too but it still took like 60 odfd days to get NOA2. Good luck:)
