Try to summarize it - use dates whenever possible and keep in mind, they're not so much interested in your first ice cream together as much as they want to know how you know each other and how/when you met in person (within the last two years)...

Knowing each other for a long time is a good thing. Just follow the guides for the petition.

Longer won't necessarily make the process longer, but I agree with Karin and Otto that it's better to summarize it. Though it would be important to mention the time and place you first met, when you were 10, it's more relevant to summarize the dates and places you have met within the last two years.

My fiancee and I have known each other for over four years, but I mostly focused on the visits we made within the past two years, which is precisely what question 18 on the I-129F asks for.

You want it to be as clear as possible to the person reading it and too much information may be a source of confusion.

I would also include copies of visas stamped in passports and boarding passes for planes.

Your evidence of meeting is mostly "secondary". Copies of passport pages with stamps entering the PI would be primary evidence of meeting.

Yes, the longer your letter, the longer your processing time will be. At least as much longer as it take to read it and if you mistakenly put something in there that causes concern, it could add more. Just cover the basics as briefly as you can. Half a page is a long letter in this context.

I went with:

"Never met her until this morning when we queued up in front of the embassy, mate. I ordered her off the Internet, like.

Lucked out, I did, wouldn't you say there boss. Most of them look good in the picture but when you meet in person they're minging."
