NOA1 08/27/2008 and still waiting for our first touch...

I check the USCIS website everyday but still the same... Our petition hasn't even been touched since NOA1 :crying:

Receipt Number: WACXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On August 26, 2008, we received this I130.....bla bla bla... We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you.

Well, we are patiently waiting... and waiting...

I just hope our FIRST TOUCH = NOA2 but in the meantime...

:ot:

It is taking longer than the attorney told me it would and we still have a few months of waiting, so we just make the best of it and think positive until then.

I LOVE YOU BABY and I know you read these forums every single day so I imagine you will find this post in a day or two - I just wish I could see your face when you read what is next...

So I was thinking and was thinking of how to cheer you up and suddenly....

 MAYBE for Valentines Day you might enjoy a little time on the beach...

Yes, you read it right :o I'm coming to see you again while we wait! :D

BUT SOME GOOD NEWS FOR NEW FILERS!

I was digging on the USCIS website and found what appears to be good news for those just starting the process.

They have posted the "PROJECTED" 2009 Processing Times and it looks great on the website... Let's see if they can do it in real life :clock:

Here is the link to view the PROJECTED 2009 GOALS and some explanations...

At least they are setting goals which is indeed encouraging  . It really is a scandal that some processing times have been as long as they have. Peoples lives are on hold and family's have suffered not only separation but financially as well. I am really encouraged that the US immigration service is making strides to cut down on the processing times.

Perhaps along the way the paperwork and fees could be more streamlined as well. Not only can it be daunting to the uninformed but also thwart with the potential for an RFE. Visa Journey has indeed been extremely informative, with the vast array of individuals experience and those very experienced in the process who advise us, long may it continue.

Best wishes to all

Timeline

This is pretty good news you have shared with us all. It is encouraging to see that they have high standard of goals. But Honestly, I do hope that they computerized all these applications so that these timelines could more be shortened. Someone posted couple pictures of a typical USCIS center office and how our application are stacked. It is scary.

Check it out http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=170347

Thanks for the link to the updated data. Unfortunately, I do not find it as much "happy news" as you migh t. I don't really care about their "Stretch Goals" what I care more about is "Current Performance". That data says they are currently runnig on a 8.4 month average approval timeframe for the NOA-2 on the CR-1/I-130. That is a long time, almost 50% longer than the former average of 6 months. I just filed in late November and it looks like they combined it with my December K-3 so I am probably not going to begin seeing any chance of approval until July or August which is really depressing to imagine. Well I was figuring a year until she arrives here and that is why she signed up for LPN training at the local college. Might as well make the most out of a tough time and get a degree that will pay-off state-side!!!

Good luck to you all. Keep us informed.

Actually I mis-read the USCIS table, it says they are currently processing CR-1/I-130s every 7.3 months. That is "only" a month over the California reported 6 month reported expected time to process. But if everybody from VSC got sent to CSC I guess things are coming to a halt at CSC. Maybe that is why this sites estimator now has my NOA-2 for my late November NOA-1 to be August instead of April. Bummer. I wish summer were here now. EN

Is there anyone out there that has figured out how this USCIS VSC vs CSC, and the transferred CSC vs. originally at CSC thing is working? I really have a hard time understanding why people that received NOA1 in October / November that were transferred over from VSC are getting approvals at CSC in January / February. Meanwhile there are people that have been at CSC with NOA1 from July, August, September, October and November that sit waiting for a touch.

It does not affect me (yet) because I am a late November/early December CR-1/K-3 filer) but if I were the others I would be confused and very sad :bonk:

I was happy when I was assigned to CSC originally, but now it seems to be a big disadvantage.

Has anyone tried to get an answer on this from CSC?

Yeah, looking at the timelines, it seems an average 8 months for the I130 approval. K-3 was created to speed things up, but it looks like a waste of time and effort to me. We are also expecting a year wait or more before he is here. :-(

Hi, just want to add my experience.

Sent I-129f 10-7-08 to VSC. My fiance has an interview date of 2-23-09. Visa paid for. Medical exam tomorrow 2-10-09. Hope to have an early March plane ticket purchase. Entire process from start to finish just over 6 months. Hope this helps and good luck to all.

For those of you who filed in August and are still waiting -- have you considered contacting your congressmen? It may sound like a far stretch, but when I hadn't heard anything by December (I filed my I-130 in late June) I got on the phone with my congressman and demanded some answers (politely of course!)....I eventually got my case moved to California from Vermont and heard from them in 2 weeks!

I am now in the process of submitting AOS etc. and I was told by my congressman's assistant to call the office in 2 weeks from the time I send everything in if I haven't heard from them saying that my case has been completed.

Anyway, I suggest it to anyone who feels they have been waiting extra long - they really are helpful!

(For those of you who keep posting about my timeline -- I tried! I filled it out but it's not showing up when I post :()

I have the same timeline with you, and I am checking USCIS website like you almost everyday. It is the same. I wonder how long do I have to wait for them to touch my NOA2 or even move to NVC. waiting everyday is very painful, sad, and worry..
