so whats this igor's list and how does it work? i keep seeing references to it, can anyone clue me in?

Igor's list can be found here http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?cfl=

This is only based on VJ members and not the other 1000's out there that are in the visa process, but it is quite handy, although it can get quite depressing if you dont move in the right direction on the list.

Hope you're still going to visit us in Dec '08 VSC Joshua

As soon as I saw the link to Igor's list...( I wasn't sure what it was either) Then click on Vermont. It will show you the last 28 approved ( NOA2) K-1's, and then the approved K-3's. The next set will be the people waiting for NOA2...both K-1 and K-3. Find the category you're in...and scroll down. Tim and I were at 473 when I first peeked, now sitting at 430. Not bad for a couple weeks. Oh...and check it lots...we moved up over 10 spaces from morning to evening of the same day. When you first go on the site...you'll see all the new approvals...and then you know you're probably up on the list...Check your estimated time of approval on your time line too. That goes up and down a lot!! :P

Hi Everyone. This website has helped me out a great deal and I just got my NOA1 on January 30th, 2009. Thank you for starting this thread.

I had two small questions:

1) My fiance translated her own birth certificate and signed her own "Certificate of Translator" page. The rules never said that you could not translate your own materials.... Was this a bad idea?? What did other people do for the translation?

2) Are some countries more difficult for getting a fiance visa than others? Or do all countries have the same standards which the I-129F packet has to meet?

I had a decent packet of materials I sent in, but not as much as what some others have posted (no ring receipt). I am scared of getting an RFE, but judging by the dates I see on Igor's list, it looks like RFE's are addressed pretty quickly at the service center once you send them the extra material. And every RFE is followed by a NOA2... so that leaves me hopeful.

Thank you for any advice.

I see that a number of people who filed at VSC in January are already able to access their case online... We can't! Our NOA1 is dated on the same day they received our petition, i.e. January14, but we still get a "validation error" when we try to check online. I've heard of glitches and delays in the online system before, but I wonder why it would affect some cases and not others (of course I worry that this means that we will wait longer for NOA2... :( ). Is there anyone else who filed in January and can't see their case online yet?

HI Philosykos, our noa-1 date is also Jan 14 and we also get that validation error and have never been able to see our case on line. It's quite frustrating. I have called several times about this and each time they say it's in their "secure" system (and they are able to read me some info about my petition) and they assure me that it's in the main system, just lately they have been having problems with the system that shows the cases on the site.

But like I said, it's quite frustrating -- why us? :) Interesting, did something happen on the 14th to cause cases not to appear? :)

Thanks for your response. Reassuring to know we are not the only ones, and it is indeed odd that our NOA1s have the same date! But what puzzles (or annoys) me most is that apparently they might not be able to fix it, i.e. that our particular cases might never be online. At least that's what the lady told me when I called yesterday. Please keep me posted if your case suddenly shows up!

Hi Everyone,

I sent my package in Jan as well. My Check got cleared on 21-Jan-2009. However I still have not received NOA1 and I get an error message when checking the status online.

Any advice - should I call them about NOA1? I am starting to get worried

Is anyone out there who is experiencing same problem as me?

Thanks a lot for your support.
