Just an update on our AOS process: I just had my biometrics done today. As soon as we arrived in the local office in Charlotte,

identification was done, asked to fill up a piece of paper, submitted it to the counter afterwards,

got a qeue number, sat and waited for 10 minutes till my number was being called, then fingerprints and picture were taken.

T'was quick and easy! The only thing we have to struggle was waking up early to be there on time  ,LOL!

hehe nice! how early in advance did you get there? 15min before your appointment time? is that enough?

We got to our appointment fairly early. 15 minutes prior to the schedule should be good enough to get through the process.

Well just thought I would post this to start us all off in the new year for those that will be filing for AOS in January! We are working on our package right now and hope to have it mailed out next week! Good luck to all!

Steph n' Gareth

Wow that was lightening quick...........

We just received a notice for AOS initial interview for March 25th. Case status online doesn't show any changes yet. But the I-797 was in my mailbox today. How is it moving this quick? Tiff didn't even get her EAD yet.....

I can't for the life of me, find a faster timeline than ours. I wonder what went so right about Tiff's case? Any suggestions?

I hope it goes this fast for all of you as well.

I could now tract my daughter's AOS and EAD and my son's EAD but my son's AOS, my own AOS and EAD still says it can't be found in the system. My daughter's AOS case says they have sent RFE January 29th but it has been almost 3weeks ago yet we still have not received anything... I know there is a deadline for responding to RFE, I am afraid we would miss it if we still won't receive anything by the mail soon. Anybody know the length of time allowed for RFE response: from date of RFE issue to date of response?

Good idea :) Hopefully they'll be able to let you know what the RFE is for or let you submit it right there (if you have any idea what the RFE might be for).

Let us know how it goes and good luck

I have no idea what happened to let you guys be the lucky ones but congratulations. It must take so much stress off your shoulders!! If you do ever figure out what you did to get the lucky draw let me know =)

As for my AOS and EAD still not able to track it online, everyday I'm hopeful and everyday nothing. I'm hoping maybe I will get as lucky as Steve and Tiff and magically find a letter in my mailbox.

Yesterday I had my biometric appointment, so today I rushed to check my case status online. And it didn't work. I cannot track anything online ;-( .

That's kind of depressing since I was looking forward to this day where I can track my EAD, AOS and AP. Well... I guess I cannot do anything about it but wait. :innocent:

AOS (K-1):

01/08/09 - AOS/EAD/AP sent

01/12/09 - packet delivered (USPS)

01/16/09 - NOA 1 (AOS/EAD/AP)

01/20/09 - NOAs recieved in a mail

01/26/09 - biometric appointment letter received in a mail

02/17/09 - biometric appointment

03/17/09 - case transferred to California Service Center

03/23/09 - AP received (issued 03/17/09)

03/25/09 - EAD received (issued 03/17/09)

04/13/09 - GREEN CARD received without interview (issued on April 6th)

Total: 3 months of waiting.

That is not strange at all. USCIS website is known for their messed up system. There are even people who received their green card already before they were able to track their case online. Just hang on tight as long as everything is ok, you have biometrics already and no RFEs, you are far better than others. Good luck and may you have a fast and RFE free AOS journey.
