The Hamas attacks don't kill women, children or civillians. They have special weaponry that won't harm innocent people.

I'm pretty sure that I have stated earlier that I don't condone that bunch of terrorists either. They, as far as I can tell, are not recieving biilions in aid from the U.S. however.

Seriously. In your opinion what should Israel do? I have a feeling nothing they do would please you. Nothing.

What I'd like to ask is this: how many rocket attacks should Israel have tolerated?

If someone had fired 50 rockets into America with lethal intent, do you think anyone in America would fail to understand it as an action of war - even if through God's grace (and rather backwards weapon technology) only a few people died from the rockets?

Israel stated clearly that if Hamas would knock it off with the rockets, they wouldn't strike back. Hamas kept firing. Israel finally had enough of it.

There is a real problem with a-historicity here. You act like Hamas began attacking Israel for no reason. You don't even mention that Israel's occupation of Arab lands has been declared illegal for the past few decades by every international legal body. Until Israel gives ALL people living under its control the same rights, allows the right of refugees to return to the homes and land within Israel that was confiscated during Israel's wars of creation, allows Palestinian access to their capital, Jerusalem, there is no hope for peace.

Putting people in little Bantustans, allowing them to vote for their own dog catcher, is not granting people freedom and self-determination. The Palestinians know that Israel will never give them freedom within those territories, so they fight for the destruction of the Israeli state. Meanwhile, Israel has been trying to make them suffer for decades so that they will leave for Jordan or Egypt or the United States.

Please leave these a-historical arguments aside. What would I do if someone shot rockets at me? I would shoot back, of course! That's the kind of mindless revenge thinking that perpetuates conflicts, rather than thinking outside the box, understanding the grievances on both sides, and solving a very serious and sad and bloody issue.
