Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

How do you know no action was taken?

Not all mod-actions result in a suspension or invisibilizing of a post.

Often, a mod will issue a warning to the perp through PM. Incidental to this warning, their warn-count gets incremented in a tool used by mods. Once that count reaches a certain threshold, a suspension automatically kicks in.

Didn't know that. I guess no way to know for sure.

Exactly.

The mod-world is a black box to us. We can report but we never know what happens to them. We're not supposed to know. That's how they like it.

I think we should initiate public flogging maybe then the masses will be happy

No, but I do think initiator of a report should always receive an acknowledgment (if not more) that their report was received and addressed (or not).

If ideal we will try to reply back. Often there may be a privacy issue and the mod/admin action will not shared with the reporting person. You can trust that all reports are sent to all moderators and to me. In the near future we are upgrading this system to include better trouble ticket (so to speak) tracking where we can document and assign an issue (internally) to a person which will help reduce duplicate work and improve our responses.

I should note... all moderator actions are recorded and the reasons are recorded as well. There is a good archive to consult to see what happened to whom and when for all moderation events. People can not do things without it being documented.

bingo! just bc no one pm'ed you to tell you "i spanked him/her and put them in the corner" doesnt mean no action was taken. you have to trust in the mods and ewok to do their jobs...checking up on them or reminding them to do their jobs becomes annoying. ;)

adding: ive always recieved a reply when i make a report, stating "oki im ontop of it" or " going to check on that right now" and then a follow up of " taken care of" i believe as mods thats all they have to tell us, not what action they took.

We only have so much time each day that our life allows... where it gets used is always a challenge.
