Season's Greetings from Joyce

Dear VJ Readers:

Goodness! It's been a year already since I received the inspiration (after a few G&Ts) to bring my far-out and groovy sensibility to VisaJourney! It has certainly been a wild ride! Nothing brings me more satisfaction than putting the brakes on a fashion disaster (cotton jeans!? goodness, no!!!) and helping budding hostesses deal effectively with the chilling fear that can accompany gazing at an orange-cloth-draped table with nothing on it! I say, walnuts! Fondue of every description! Shrimp cocktail! And gallons of gin! Nothing gets a party started like a harvest-gold bowl of Cool Whip and strawberries. But don't overdo it! Even a wonder food like Cool Whip can add an extra lump where you really don't need it!

Please allow me to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and to offer my heartfelt wishes for a magical holiday season. Any last-minute questions about really making your party a memorable one? I am at your service! But not until tomorrow! Dave "Baby" Cortez is taking me out dancing! I bought new platform shoes for the occasion. Dear Joyce will be standing tall, helmet towering over fellow revelers! You know it!!!!!

Love,

(F) Joyce (F)

p.s. Cristy Lane, have you crawled out of the gutter yet?

I just flew in from my job out in the Gulf of Mexico yesterday and I'm home until the 24th. The time is beer-thirty here in Houston. I went to the local Russian grocery for my usual Baltica #8 Wheat Ale, #5 Golden Lager, and #7 Export Lager this morning. Life is good.

If that ain't groovy...I don't know what is. ;)

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Goodness! Sounds like you're well on your way!

Make sure you stop by the A&P and pick up a little something for your better half! I say, you can never go wrong with roses and support hose! What modern woman doesn't love that dynamic duo?

Merry Christmas, Joyce!

On Christmas Eve I will be thinking of you, Mom is making cheese fondue like every year. Christmas Day we enjoy a roast goose. There will be lots of booze and pressies, and music, happy faces and hugs and love and we'll be merry and loving it and all.

Mom and I will be wearing those festive jumpsuits! Hotness!

Pedro settled for the classy Ron Burgundy look.

Have a good one and don't stop yourself on those G&Ts, you know they are good for you!

Goodness! Hotness, you weren't kidding! Pedro is going to have to watch you like a hawk if you'll be wearing a jumpsuit like that! (*giggle*) And I bet your mom will be the toast of the party! It's inspiring--some might even say a miracle--that lovely ladies around the world, across generations and cultures, embrace such timeless flattering style! And if Pedro plans to wear velvet, be ready to shoo the ladies off him! I suggest offering them Cool Whip. No modern gal worth her fondue would turn that down!

Love,

(F) Joyce (F)

Goodness!

These days, I prefer control-top pantyhose (but shhhhhhh! Don't tell anyone!). I also use thongs when I can't find one of my 1,000 fondue forks!

Love,

(F) Joyce (F)

Dear Joyce,

Have you looked outside lately? The sky is falling.

Mr. Fancypants! How nice to see you again!

You know, I used to think the sky was falling, but then I realized that I was falling--into the waiting arms of Alan Alda! Well, that's how I experienced it, but fellow party attendees said I was actually falling onto the floor after a few G&Ts! Boy are they silly!

Love,

(F) Joyce (F)

Season's Beatings and have a Joyous Depression !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
