Yeah Spirit! Warmer country. :D

I know of a perfect home in Vashon, right across the Puget Sound from Seattle. :P

If you need some Hawaiian time, our home is always open to you both. Better yet, come over in a sailboat and hubby will ask that you remain forever.

Now we're talkin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can only show him the door...it is up to him to open it.

(kinda what Morpheus said to Neo)

Hee, hee.

Yes, the snow looks beautiful - from Florida!

Where is that house Cat...is it for rent!?

LOL - no my MIL's house is for rent/sale near there. That is Point Robinson Light House. Right beside it is the Harbor Master's house (formerly) and that is for rent (weekly/monthly). Chris said that a lot of people's families rent it out when they're on the island visiting rather than staying with their relatives. I guess its fairly reasonably priced, and you really cannot beat the view. I don't have a picture of that one though. Its very Cape Cod looking.

Looking South so you do not see the nearby Northshore mountains.

So since Cat's MIL has a house for rent short term (since it is for sale) and Spirit needs a temporary home for a month or so? to have a look around, maybe she is interested in renting it very reasonably??

You never know with that lady. She also has a rental house on the property. Maybe she'd just be happy to have someone living there while she's in Anacortes? I dunno. She's having a horrible time selling it though. Its been on the market for 6-8 months I think and only one showing.

Its an incredible house (quite small though). I dunno, I'll ask Chris tonight if she's looking at renting it since the last tenant left. I'll let you know Spirit if things look positive.

You'd love it there though, its a total Free-bird, peace, love and freedom kinda place. All the Republicans left several years ago. Except for Chris' dad, he's still there. Stay away from the beach house that says Hippies will be shot on sight.

Can Spirit get CBC via short wave radio? That would be a deal breaker if she can't!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Hahaha you are absolutely darling MrsCat.

Thank you for inquiring.

How long does it take to ferry over to Seattle?

Costs for that, are how much??

Hmmmm...this would be so great.

The place sounds terrific except for the being shot at part.

Hahaha!

Flames, I can get CBC radio on-line which is how I listen to both Vancouver and Montreal wherever I am.

Between those two cities and NPR (local) oh boy...I do not listen every day.

It would be too much.

Ignorance is bliss!

:star:

Oops, I forgot to ask: how did your exams go Flames?

Are you with beer in hand yet??

THe ferry ride itself is only 5 minutes, but if you're driving on, in the morning you have to line up real early. There is a foot ferry I believe that takes you right to downtown Seattle in about 5-10 minutes. Cost for a car I think is $20 R/T but not sure exactly. We don't visit that often. :P
