We've only tried Western Union before and it's very reliable and fast.

Western Union is the only way I have ever sent money to PI.

My cost is $12 per transaction.

It seems to get there in a few minutes, and you don't have to pay extra for the service.

Another good thing is you can wire yourself $500 or $1000 and have it waiting for you if you are visiting PI. If you get low on money just go pick it up at W.U. center.

If you are going to be sending it on a regular basis and you can plan 4 or 5 days ahead check out PNB's Remit on Line. Once you get signed up its only $10.00 and they will deliver it to her house, something I found very convenient when my wife was preggy. They also have much higher exchange rate than wectern union xoom ect..

Western Union works almost instantly. The fee varies with how much you send. You can send $100 for a $12 fee, and also they take another fee out of what your fiancee will receive by using an artificial exchange rate. If you live anywhere near a Western Union agent (Wal-Mart is one of them) the fee you pay there is more like $5 per hundred dollars.

we used western union for emergency...

i opened an account in BPI but it will take almost a week.

my husband opened a new account in CT-C bank here in the US and he sent me the ATM card, it will cost 10 to 15 pesos per withdrawal in PI (maximum of 10,000.00 pesos per withdrawal) it will be there within 24 hours. it won't cost u much.

I agree with the PNB remit,,it offers much better exchange rates and lower fees. If there is a PNB branch in your fiancee's area, you can setup an ATM account so she can withdraw whatever she needs and doesn't carry a lot of cash. The website is http://www.pnbrci.com.

For fast delivery, WU works well and they have reduced fees; maybe from competition from remithome and xoom?

Best wishes for your little one and hope the visa process goes smoothly and hopefully less than 7 months.

Geezer has the best suggestion!

On my last trip to Las Vegas I went to the branch office of PNB, (Philippines National Bank). I set up what the OFW's (Overseas Foriegn Worker) use.

All she had to do was go to any branch office near her home, pick up an ATM card. I can make deposits to the account I opened for her and she can with draw from it. Deposits can be made with Xoom on the internet, or mail by check or MO to the Vegas branch.

I think you can set up the account on the internet, try google "PNB". If your located where there is a large filipino community, there might be a branch office like in Vegas or California.

The point is, I would trust what the OFW's do! PNB has the lowest fees and best exchange rates. Western Union is very good and fast and expensive!

ohh an CONGRATS on your baby!!

WESTERN UNION Online is reliable too! my fiance before used to send me,but if you are sending like thousands of $ it is much better to send in Moneygram too! she can claim it to BDO in Cebu or to UCPB.

I did what another had posted months ago. I opened an account with a Credit Union here in the states and gave my wife the debit card. I deposit what I want and all she does is use the ATM card. Cost is $.75 per withdraw no matter the amount.
